Oxymoron LP (2013) - Justice & Metro

12” sampler, hand folded CD sleeve, sticker and badge. The difficult 2nd album 😂

“A journey into connective contrast, the Oxymoron LP is Justice & Metro’s best collaborative work to date. A refined exploration of self, history and the unmistakable MJazz sound. Paradoxically both future and retro, a true oxymoron.” Not sure who wrote that?

839 LP (2010) - Justice & Metro

The debut collaborative LP by myself and Justice. I’m proper proud of this LP it was my first and we had a 12” vinyl sampler too, again my first vinyl release… it was reviewed as a cinematic experimental concept album which gained critical acclaim, we even had the man Laurent Garnier say this… @laurent_garnier

“Pure abstract moody atmospheres.....A very beautiful album to travel with. Dark but not heavy, simple and complex at the same time.....Something I will listen to over and over. This is a brilliant album!”

MJAZZ LP09 - Nostalgic Futurisms (2012)

Completely hand finished, hand sprayed and folded sleeve. Hand sprayed limited CD, came with a sticker and unique sprayed arrow used in the production of sprayed sleeve and CD. Each CD was unique.

We used an old magazine review page from 96’ (Jockey slut) that had reviewed MJAZZ LP01 - Icons - Emotions with Intellect and adapted it to add the review of this various artist comp… then went in on one with the stencil sprays…

Modern Urban Jazz present Nostalgic Futurisms, a collection of tracks inspired by the golden era of drum and bass. It brings together classics, reworkings and new material which hark back to 95/96 period.

Hidden in the depths of the Modern Urban Jazz archives, a few gems from the golden era were found. This in turn sparked the idea for Nostalgic Futurisms, an album where new and old tracks sit side by side, all with one theme in mind, “Nostalgia.”

We start where it all began with Icons and their inspirational classic Aspects and Aspirations, Justice & Diamond Eye take the groove out of a stone cold classic from ‘96 and turn it into Straight Up, Paranoid Society & Metro team up to make an old school groove out of Marimba, and Glider State reminisce with Nostalgia. Control Remote rolls back the years and harks back to distant Detroit on Faded Memories, Metro goes on to serve up a Special Groove, and Nitro 44 & Momentum join together to start an intelligent Revolution.

The Parameters send out a cosmic inspired jam in the shape of Satellite Respond, whilst Stereotype serve up the rolling incarnation of Joker, Krash collide and deliver their Essential 4 Life, Justice & Metro search for resonance and reflect on the golden era on Rezo, and Cuelock comments on all the human thought process and puts in Decent Minds. For the finale Jason oS tunes in an interplanetary radio which crackles into life with a heartbeat. Dark nods to the early days, an old school break and apache rolls fill the track until... Flatline.
