Finally got to take photos under the neon lights of Hong Kong, a dream coming true, especially knowing these lights are slowly disappearing one by one in modern-day Hong Kong 🥹

Thank you so much @memorytxture for capturing my first day here so beautifully. It was really nice meeting you in person, shooting this together, and getting to know you along the way. You’re such a bubbly person, and I’m really grateful for your work. Hope we get to meet and create again soon!

I leap into the ritual dance to ferry my departed soul across. The self that once died at your touch, I release it now. I am no longer trapped, I back to my own.

An inviolable sanctity, like a statue abandoned here, pulsing, hard and unyielding, its gaze and stance forbidding every hand that would dare to touch it. I am reborn in the sea, as though immersed in amniotic waters, washed clean of all filth and sin."

我再次回到這裡，荷著哀慟與平靜。萎謝的花冠，枯枝繞成的花束，心形石——自然也攜著輓歌而來。我縱身躍入祭祀舞中，令離魂橫渡。曾在你的觸摸之下消亡的那個我，我如今放開它了。我不再被困住，我回到了我之中。

不容褻瀆的神聖，彷彿神像棄置於此，血流湧動，堅硬而不屈，以祂的凝視與姿態，拒絕每一隻膽敢觸摸的手。我在海中重生，如同沒入羊水，洗盡污穢與罪孽。

We went back to the traumatized space and planted new memories: bravery and solidarity, power of struggle and peace.

Things that once prisoned us, will have the same weight as feathers.

Ophelia died in madness and depression that was assigned to her by a male playwright; but you’ll be reborn from water."

我們回到了創傷地，種下新的記憶：直視的勇氣，命運與共，掙扎中破繭而出的力量，海浪帶來的平靜

曾經囚禁我們的，終將輕如鴻毛。

四歲的小魚

每一年回家都給朋友的女兒小魚拍照，和朋友開玩笑說，如果之後你和小魚都同意，可以集結做一本獨立出版的攝影集了，就叫《年年有魚》。

我在長大，小魚也在長大。今年我聽她和她媽媽說話，說「要像雲朵一樣高」。 我和她說她是未來的小孩，她說：「我不是未來的！我不是！我不是！」她不怎麼和我說話，但是當我拿出相機，她會觀察我，她會等待我，會扮鬼臉，有時也直接無視我。

我很感謝小魚有一顆開放的心，願意和我玩遊戲。不是抗拒也不是誰配合誰，不需要出片也無需自證。因為我們有共同的朋友（小魚的媽媽），也每年見面，我們之間好像就是有這樣的默契——你做你自己，我也做我自己。我們是也不是大人/小孩，只是一起玩。

看照片覺得小魚勁勁的，原來照片中那麼多都是她在用力抓、或者手腳並用「纏」東西的樣子，還記錄了第一次爬上雙槓的瞬間。

Hi there! I am Ashley J (“memorytxture”, she/her), a multimedia artist and cultural translator based in Hong Kong. I am dedicated to presenting you with an immersive cultural experience through portrait photoshoots and vivid storytelling.

Since March 2024, I have welcomed and made friends with 300+ clients from 50+ countries and received a 100% five-star rating.

Option 1 - Omakase : Photographer's Decision >> I'll choose a meet-up location beforehand and decide the photography styles and the route after I meet you in person. Most suitable for people who enjoy excitement in new experience!

Option 2 - Tailored : Your Decision >> Whether you are into instagram spots/street food/urban exploration/hiking/modern art etc., and whatever kind of film photography you like (natural/stylish/black and white/color/daytime/nighttime/120mm/135mm), just message me and I can help you design a unique route to take the exact photos you want.

I am super easy to talk with and want to make sure you enjoy the journey (the process of photo taking and our conversations) as well as the results (the photos).
