Film still teaches me to slow down🎞️
I love this part, holding it up to the light before it comes what it's meant to be.

Excited to be a part of a conversation at the Getty Center this Friday, April 11 at 6pm for “Photobooks by Women” — a night dedicated to storytelling, collaboration, politics, identity, and resilience through the lens of photobook publishing. I’ll be joined by artist Catherine Opie, 10x10 Photobooks co-founder Russet Lederman, and curator Isotta Poggi for a conversation that dives deep into how we make and share our work. Reception + gallery viewings to follow. If you can’t make it, there should be a recorded version available to watch soon! 📚✨@10x10photobooks @catherineopiestudio @easy_isoo @gettymuseum

Happy Heavenly B-Day, Nick.
I miss your physical presence,
I am so glad I have these 8-mm video clips to watch occasionally. I fondly remember hanging out in the projection booth at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theater, the Aero Theater, and the Egyptian. It felt so special to watch the unique process of a maestro projectionist at work. You were considered one of the best. I remember you telling me that you were requested by great film directors, like William Friedkin, and others asked that you only project their movies. It was neat to see and nerd out on the original 35mm film canisters on Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 Space Odyssey, Friedkin’s “The French Connection, “ Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver,” and many more.Lots have changed; we're in a hybrid world now, a shift from film to digital; some directors, like Tarantino, Nolan, PTA, and others, are film purists.

Myself and other dear friends miss your brilliant mind, exceptional wisdom and knowledge on any subject, and unique sense of humor.
Perhaps you're hosting a celestial bash, drinking your favorite whiskey, swapping stories, playing chess and poker games until the wee hours, or just reading some epic fiction or something off the beaten path… miss you, my friend, ❤️

2nd clip is a Nick projecting the movie “The Last Detail” Jack Nicholson, Otis Young & Randy Quaid, the incredible director Hal Ashby
