Thought it was time for a little updated intro!

Whether you’re here for…
-the beautiful San Diego home tours
-finding out which playgrounds are worth the trip
-where the heck to go for date night

You’re in the right place! I’m Meg, a coastal San Diego realtor and mom to 2 little ones, and I share what it’s like to raise a family in San Diego, how to relocate here (because I’ve done it) and what our ever-changing real estate market is all about.

Got a question? I love to chat in my DM’s. Whether it’s what breweries are the most kid-friendly, how to enroll your kid in school (former teacher here 🙋🏼‍♀️), or what neighborhood might be your perfect fit, I’ll have an answer for you!

So make sure to follow @meg_wilder to help you decide if Coastal San Diego is right for you 💙

Looking for your coastal retreat in San Diego? While everyone will always talk about La Jolla (no hate here, it is an amazing neighborhood!) definitely don’t sleep on these other options…

-Pacific Beach: $1.9M
if you want to get as close to La Jolla as possible, but without the La Jolla price tag, Pacific Beach, especially North PB is your answer. Here’s why:
-You still get homes with character
-can have either easy beach access or a water view
-tons of cute coffee shops
-trade off: honestly it’s not as clean as La Jolla

-Point Loma: $1.7M
If you’re looking for another established neighborhood where people take a lot of pride in their homes, Point Loma could be for you because:
-You can get a home with a water view for under $2M
-Walkability to restaurants and The Yacht Club
-excellent public schools
-trade off: the plane noise is real, but ask me about The Quieter Home Act to help with that

-Carlsbad: $1.5M-$1.9M
If you’re willing to venture up the coast, Carlsbad is an excellent alternative to La Jolla for the following reasons:
-Olde Carlsbad is just as charming at La Jolla Village
-homes are seeing a steady increase in value (not the same story for the other neighborhoods)
-a super family-friendly neighborhood with tons of local events
-trade off: lots more cookie cutter communities

Comment HOMES and I’ll send you my Coastal San Diego Neighborhood Guide as well as a link to chat more with me about what you’re looking for in San Diego.

If you’re ready to find a home in San Diego, now or even in the next year or two, DM me and we can sit down to discuss what you’re looking for.

🩵 Meg, your San Diego real estate agent who offers all of the support with none of the pressure

I’m so glad we chose to slow down and raise our kiddos in Coastal San Diego (Pacific Beach to be exact) 🌊

We considered so many places (and looked at A LOT OF HOUSES) and I’m so thankful to call Pacific Beach home.

If you’re looking for a place where you can live a slower pace day to day and yet still be close to all the things that came along with a bigger city, like Los Angeles or San Francisco, you’ll love it here too! You can go from a quiet, peaceful walk along the ocean to a 5 star local restaurant in 15 minutes. @juniperandivy , @fortoaksd , @wolfinthewoodsmissionhills I’m looking at you 👀

While I love a fancy date night out, or a trip to @newenglishbrewing 🍺 with my kids, you’ll often find us packing up a picnic 🧺 and relaxing at a local park. The kids can run around and roll down a hill, while my husband and I relax and watch the sunset. If you would have told me 6 years ago that this would be our life today, I would not have believed you!

But what I love most about Pacific Beach is the real community feel. You can’t ride your bike down the boardwalk without running into a mom from preschool, and you’ll easily find yourself chatting with the owners of all the cute dogs down at @javaearthcoffee 🐶

While our home prices have continued to steadily rise, you bet I can still find you a great home within your budget. I love working in Pacific Beach 💛 but having grown up in San Diego, I’ve got the inside scoop on all the neighborhoods up and down the coast.

Comment HOMES and I’ll send you details on how to get started searching for your home in Coastal San Diego!

I love my kids, but I also love not eating boring kid food all the time 😅

When we moved to San Diego it was important that we still have tons of restaurants and coffee shops to go to, as that was a huge part of our life in NYC and LA

And San Diego delivers. We aren’t afraid to drive 30 min to try out a new burger spot, but usually we’re someplace 5-10 min from home

The great thing about San Diego’s laid back culture is that kids are super welcome in most places

We have so much YEAR ROUND outdoor dining, that I’m never really worried about my kids being too loud or “too much”

You can’t go wrong with any of these spots. If you want to know what to order, I’m happy to share! I have soooo many more places to share, so this is just Part 1 of at least 2 of 3 ☺️

Basically if you’re looking to live in a place where you can still go out to great restaurants and people won’t give you the side eye for your kids being freaking kids, San Diego is the spot

Comment WELCOME and I’ll send you my guide that includes more of my favorite spots and also talks about lots of our unique neighborhoods!

You’re in the right place ☺️

If you’re sick of just scrolling Zillow for a San Diego home and looking for someone to help you navigate which neighborhoods are full of scooters and which ones have the best public schools, I can help.

I know what it feels like to endlessly scroll through pictures of homes, not really knowing if the area you’re looking in is the RIGHT one for YOU. I know, because I’ve done it.

Comment WELCOME for my San Diego guide if you’re just getting started here.

You really can’t go wrong in San Diego because it’s just a fantastic place to live, but the way you feel day in and day out here is super dependent on the neighborhood you choose.

You can take all the quizzes in the world about “which SD neighborhood is right for me” (I know because I took them) but these quizzes don’t know that you actually hate Starbucks and NEED a local coffeeshop 😅 Or that your secret dream is to live on a property where you can’t see your neighbors, but school is still just 10 min away.

Only a real live person can help you figure out where in San Diego you belong. And if you’re still looking for that person, then Hi 👋🏼

Whether you’re already renting somewhere else in San Diego, or you’ve been dreaming about moving here, I promise I can help. If you’ve just got a quick question-send it over to me. If you have a notebook full of questions, let’s meet for a coffee or over Zoom.

Don’t keep scrolling homes with no real direction. Let’s get you scrolling with intention, or maybe let me do the scrolling and curating for you!

If you’re wondering if life in San Diego is really that great? I’m here to confirm that it’s even better than you think 🌊

I’ve lived in Kansas, New Jersey, NYC, and LA and I can say that hands down San Diego is my favorite place (especially for this stage of life).

If you want a place where you can be outside 362 days a year, have incredible food and craft beer, get to the beach and the mountains in the same day, and just relax…San Diego is that place.

Talking about moving to San Diego is one of my favorite things to do, so if you have questions shoot me a DM or comment WELCOME and I’ll send you my guide so you can explore a bit more on your own.

These are all snaps from the past few months and are truly what my everyday life here looks like. There’s seriously nothing I would change. If SD is on your mind, you probably landed here for a reason ☺️ and I’d be happy to help you!

First things first, I’m not an investor. I’m a mom and realtor who loves data and also home renovations and has put time, energy and money into a few properties and seen a massive return on investment.

Real estate is not a get rich quick type of investment. You have to be willing to do the work and take on the projects that nobody else wants.

No matter what headlines say, the San Diego housing market is still incredibly strong, because our inventory is still low, while demand keeps growing.

If I was looking to invest in a San Diego neighborhood, here are some I would be considering:

Pacific Beach: PB has seen an 18% increase in home sale prices over the last year-one of the largest in the entire county. It can be hard to swallow the price tag to enter the market here, but if you find an old bungalow that needs to be reimagined, jump on it!

Oceanside: heading way up the coast, Oceanside is our most affordable coastal market and has seen massive growth over the last few years. You can still find a single family home, walking distance to the beach, for under $2M. And do not sleep on the Fire Mountain neighborhood.

Tierrasanta: this is one of those little pockets that not everyone has heard of, and that’s exactly why it’s worth a look. Incredible access to nature, tight-knit communities, and lots of homes that are stuck about 30 years in the past and just need a refresh.

Poway: known as “the city in the country” this suburban neighborhood offers incredible schools top to bottom and the chance to own a home with a little more space, without being way out in the country. Prices keep on rising and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Encinitas, Carlsbad (especially North), Del Mar, and La Jolla are also almost always great bets, but you probably already knew that ☺️

If you want to talk through your next San Diego move, I’d love to help you! Comment CHAT or send me a DM and we can get your questions answered.

The fact that this where I get to get my walks in will never get old to me.

The minute I see the ocean coming into view, I always smile, and once I’m out of my car, I smile even bigger. That probably sounds cheesy but it’s true!

After more than a decade in NYC, I solidified myself as someone who loves walking, but doing it on the actual beach, on a random Tuesday, just always leaves me feeling grateful.

Whether you’re looking to spend more time outside with your kids, slow down as you head towards retirement, or just want more room to breathe, San Diego is truly a special place 🌊

If you want a list of some of my favorite walking spots in San Diego, comment WALK and I’ll send them to you ☺️

If a move in or around San Diego has been on your mind, I’d love to help you out, so shoot me a message with any of your questions!

If you’ve been searching for a home in La Jolla where all the work has been done for you, with room for the whole family, without paying La Jolla prices, this is the one.

This home sits above it all with gorgeous mountain and city views out the back 😍 and treetop views out front.

Every inch of the home has been updated and the finishes are custom and gorgeous (did you see the oversized shower and fluted tub?!)

Indoor-outdoor living is in the DNA of this home with huge accordion doors opening to the backyard and a large wrap-around deck upstairs.

The nitty gritty:
-5 beds
-3.5 baths
-just over 2,900 sf

This one hasn’t hit the market yet, but is available for private showings for anyone who is interested. If that’s you, comment MOUNTAIN VIEW and I’ll reach out so we can get you in to see this beauty ☺️

These are words my city-loving husband said to me this weekend while we were living our run-of-the-mill family weekend in San Diego.

Here’s what a regular old weekend with 2 young kids can look like when you live in San Diego, and why I don’t think you can really get this anywhere else…

Friday
-played on thelawn outside of preschool (obviously no shoes) and chatted with our friends
-dinner+dessert at our local favorites @sdtaproom (omg the brussels) and ice cream at the incredible @pbicecreamco

Saturday
-drove 5 min to the beach for a walk, which of course called for hot chocolate from @konoscoffee (both kids did spill 😅)
-all the neighbor kids went nuts in the cul-de-sac on scooters, bikes, etc
-had a picnic with dino nugs and chips+guac in the yard
-went to an incredible fundraiser for @rad_therapeutic_riding in a totally different part of SD, complete with horses and line dancing

Sunday
-took our golf cart to our go-to La Jolla breakfast spot: @cottagerestaurants (I dream about their granola)
-finally cleaned out our trash-can of a car and also convinced my kids to part with several “treasures” from their rooms 🙏🏻
-rewarded ourselves with a quick lunch from @harrystacoclub where my kids swore they weren’t hungry but then ate all my rice and beans 😂
-frozen pizza and watched Zootopia for the 435th time

I think the major theme is that we are able to be outside A LOT and we don’t have to make screens a part of our everyday lives because there is always so much to do here. Plus we have so many amazing local places we get to support.

I also think it’s worth noting that this was our weekend in our laid-back coastal neighborhood, but if you choose to live in 4S Ranch or University Heights, you’re going to have a totally different, but equally awesome weekend.

If you want help figuring out what your dream life in San Diego could look like, comment WELCOME and I’ll send you my guide as a 1st step-or just send me a message!

Some homes are impossible to ignore from the moment you walk in, and this coastal San Diego home is one of those.

Comment YARD and I’ll send you everything on this one.

You open the front door and are immediately drawn out onto the massive deck with expansive water views. The entire living room wall is made of doors that completely open up, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living.

While the outdoor entertaining is incredible, the inside of the home is just as impeccable. An oversized kitchen, relaxing living room, and light-filled walk-out basement complete with a bar and a gym, create a truly resort-like experience.

It’s tucked into the most under-the-radar coastal San Diego neighborhood: North Pacific Beach. If you want La Jolla views with more space, more quiet, and more convenience, you cannot skip North Pacific Beach. You can easily pop over to Bird Rock, La Jolla Shores, or the PB coast. Not to mention, you’re a quick walk from the gorgeous Kate Sessions Park.

This is the part of coastal San Diego where people stop looking once they find the right one.

If you’re considering a move to San Diego, CA, this is the kind of home I’d want you to see in person. The photos are beautiful. The feeling is better.

Comment YARD and I’ll send you the full details.

Details:
-6 beds
-4 baths
-4,106 sf
-$4.99M
