I am very excited to share that Forest Fire: Regrowth 🌲This is a VR artwork I’ve been working on since last May and it is finally published on the Meta Quest storefront as of today! This was the product of over 500 hours of work over the last year and is made up of 300+ hand painted gouache paintings that I digitized and turned into a 3D painting you can step inside.
This work was funded by the Canada Council of the Arts and is available free for anyone interested to download. Currently it is just available as a meta quest application for download on Quest VR headsets, a computer version is still in progress and will eventually be released on Steam and itch.io.
DM @friendofafriend_co to get your copy of UPSTAIRS. A softcover book with 100 pages of artworks, poem, essays from 20+ artists.
The residency was surreal and I am grateful to be a part of this community. 🙏

We’re pleased to introduce Friend of a Friend, a newly formed Ottawa artist collective dedicated to collaborative, community-driven projects.
The collective grew out of Upstairs (Nov 2025), a two-week residency and pop-up exhibition that brought together more than 25 artists in a temporary apartment-based gallery. The project welcomed over 200 visitors and highlighted the value of artist-run, informal exhibition spaces.
We are currently producing a printed catalogue documenting the full project, and our goal is to include it in the Possible Worlds Zine Fair in May.
We are fundraising to cover printing costs for the catalogue.
If you would like to support independent artist publishing, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated, and sharing this post also helps.

Thank you for supporting artist-run culture.

Just wanted to share a work in progress video of my current VR project. This is just about 9-10 months of work currently, with some more work on the environment and movement systems and significant work still to go on soundscapes and the menu system. I look forward to sharing more soon! (running on a standalone quest 3 headset).
A sneak peak of what I will go over in the next GB studio meet up on Feb 18 👀 sign up link on my bio!
Special thanks to @ly_ledotcom (my wife) for making this short video for the 8-bit photo journal 😍After posting about the release the other day I realized that I missed a submission, and updated version with the missing photographer is now uploaded at the same link as before. If I make the volume 2 in the future would you be interested in joining?

I got to visit my parents this holiday and while there me and my wife visited my dad’s studio. A recently retired high school art teacher, his current practice focuses on linoleum prints of local birds. I hope everyone had a great holiday and I hope your new year is full of art! 🖼️🎨🖌️🎭
My interactive 8-bit art piece at the UPSTAIRS gallery show in November got a lot of interest and a lot of questions about how it was made.
Creating Gameboy-style games and art is more accessible than you might think - no coding required.
I’m hosting a creative get-together at Art Engine to share what I’ve learned using GB Studio, a free drag-and-drop tool for making interactive 8bit experiences.
📅 Jan 21, 6:30pm @ Art Engine
💻 Bring a laptop with GB Studio (download from itch.io)
✨ No experience necessary - we’ll cover the basics together
