I’ve been getting to know the UK banger racing community recently and I’m hooked. This portrait of Bobby is part of the project I’ve been working on for my MA which has been a real privilege and is currently being printed as a book 🙌

Some collages from some recent work for @lccmapjd where we were encouraged to ‘rethink’ our practice under the theme ‘constructed truth’

Using pictures from my family archive I was exploring ideas around authenticity and identity, or specifically the instability of those values in a society that is increasingly mediated by algorithms, and a pressure to perform a sort of digital labour in order to contribute to our reputation and potential economic and social value.Labour that is underpinned by a capitalist framework that subtly (or often blatantly) commands us to always be measuring ourselves and sharing more and more information as a means to take that measure…

And now I’m posting this here to SUBVERT all that okay???
