There is a specific kind of magic that unfolds when the industry’s most intentional minds hold space for one another.

Spending the last four days in San Diego witnessing the craft of @maxgilldesign and @sirenfloralco has been a profound recalibration.

Beyond their ‘creative beast mode’ skills (you truly had to be there for those siiiick moments), it is their vulnerability and humility that sets them apart. I believe this is exactly why they are such magnetic forces in our industry.

Max’s work is a masterclass in botanical drama-a raw, honest emulation of the relationship between the garden and the elements. It’s a reminder that nothing exists in isolation: the air needs the trees; the honeysuckle needs the soil.

Rachael, acting as a true muse of the wilderness, channels the emotional folklore of the Siren to pull viewers into the soul of flowers. Her presence is a testament to finding a special kind of joyous approach to her craft, even when the logistics of life and business can challenge us.

True sustainability extends beyond the mechanics of the design; it must exist within the architecture of the business itself. Implementing these internal supports isn’t just about efficiency. It’s about creating the emotional and mental margin required to lead with generosity. When the foundation is secure, we can show up for our industry and our loved ones with a full and ready heart.

With a shared devotion to foam-free, sustainable mechanics, this experience wasn’t just about flowers; it was about slowing down to remember why we design. It’s about the story a stem tells when someone enters a room, and the real connection it brings to a moment in time.
