Mattituck’s First Fridays on Love Lane series is back starting on Friday May 1 this year, and a few changes are in store for the popular event.

Sponsored by the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce, the series will run from 6-9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month from May until October. As usual, Love Lane will be closed to car traffic, with more vendors and food trucks this year and a raised stage so that live bands can be more easily seen. Read more at our #linkinbio!

Local officials used the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce’s annual “State of Mattituck” dinner Monday night to emphasize a theme of mounting demands across nearly every level of local government — from record emergency calls and rising fire department activity to aging infrastructure, environmental pressures and uncertain school enrollment trends.

Southold Town Supervisor Al Krupski outlined a series of operational, infrastructure and policy updates affecting the town, with a focus on emergency preparedness, environmental challenges and ongoing municipal projects. (Watch Krupski’s full speech below)

Among the most significant issues he highlighted was a major cyberattack that struck the town over the past year, requiring a coordinated response across multiple town agencies, as well as Suffolk County, Homeland Security and the FBI and New York State court systems.

To read how these issues have been addressed, or how the town plans to address them in the future, continue to the link in our bio.
