I am working on a new setup for acoustic steel string guitar and no-input mixing (with input in this case). This is an excerpt from a practicing session filmed by @marina_cyrino .

Stay tuned for solo sets with this setup in Berlin:
- At Staalplaat on September 11
- At a well known secret location on October 08 (dm me for more info).

Hopefully at other places as well!!

oê [39:08] OUT NOW! 🚀

On Oem Records. Link in bio.

A very special thank you to my collaborators: @emygdiocosta for doing once more a wonderful mix, and Paulo Dantas (@atnll_is_pdnts), the master of mastering!

@valentinabesegher designed the amazing cover, and @labor_neunzehn made it possible through our joint grant from the Weltoffenes Berlin Program of the Berlin Senate.

Martin Clarke (@rockscottage) from @oemrecords was so nice to release it on his label.

||||||

Four years after [34:46], a solo guitar album that looked back on my work with the electric guitar, I am releasing oê [39:08], an album that aims to open up new paths.

It is an album recorded on a steel string guitar, a very old, tiny parlor guitar that I acquired shortly before the recording. The recording was part of the process of getting to know this instrument, which has since become a dear part of my instrumentation.

The titles are references or deferences to influences in the form of persons, entities or objects. On this album, I use no electronics at all, only a few objects that are usually not very unusual for guitar playing and music making, such as a capo, spider capo, cello bow or drumstick. Perhaps the most unusual object is a balloon. My intention with this album is not to change or transform the sound of the guitar, but to meet its material potential.

Side A consists of 5 tracks, on side B I start from a similar point as on side A, but take it in a different direction.

No cuts or overdubs.

The album was produced by Labor Neunzehn and is part of our residency in the context of the Weltoffenes Berlin program of the Berlin Senate.

Cover design: Valentina Besegher
Recording: Matthias Koole
Mix: Emygdio Costa
Mastering: Paulo Dantas

Released on OEM Records on October 02, 2023

Registration is now open !! Sunday June 14th 14:00 ⇉ SUARANTAU # 2 Recipes, Scores, and Collective Radio Composition, a WORKSHOP by Ariel Orah @_ravenative_ ❤️

We are looking forward to this second workshop of the Disquiet Series, hosted at Novilla @movingpoets in Schöneweide.

Free workshop! For signing up, send an e-mail to info@time-emotion-studies.com
Limited places available, don't miss out!!

Funded by inm e.V @field.notes.berlin_inm

⇉ SUARANTAU is a participatory sound workshop series exploring listening, place, memory, and collective composition through experimental sound and radio practices.

The title is a portmanteau from two Indonesian words “Suara/Sound” and “Rantau/Migration”. The project focuses on Socially Engaged (participatory) Sonic Art Creation, aiming to create supportive environments for experimentation while addressing social themes and fostering dialogue.

This second edition takes place at Novilla in Schöneweide, a site shaped by industrial transformation, migration, and collective cultural activity. In recent months, the space has also experienced incidents targeting books and cultural materials through vandalism and right wing hostility. These layered realities become part of the workshop’s listening and compositional process.

The workshop combines improvisation, score making, storytelling, cooking, listening exercises, and experimental radio practices. Participants will collectively explore recipes, ingredients, and sound as compositional tools for creating a temporary live radio piece and shared meal.

Participants are encouraged to bring:
-one recipe or food related memory
-one ingredient from the recipe that they would like to highlight and share collectively
-one sound source or sound making object

The sound source can be anything:
an instrument, a recording, an object, a voice, a portable speaker, or any sound making device

No previous experience is required.

Saturday, June 13th ➠ We are looking forward to the second concert of the Disquiet series, with wonderful guests ❤️🤍💚🖤 Wafaa Saied, Dror Feiler performing two solos + a duo by Ghayath Almadhoun and Tony Buck ❤️🤍💚🖤
20:00 at @morphine_records_raum Funded by inm e.V @field.notes.berlin_inm
Concerts: 10 € at the door

Wafaa Saied is a Palestinian singer and storyteller whose work explores memory, displacement, and cultural heritage through voice and sound. Rooted in Palestinian musical traditions and personal narrative, her performances move between remembrance and reinvention, carrying stories of home, longing, resilience, and collective memory. Originally from Gaza, Saied draws deeply from lived experience, family memory, and oral tradition. Through interpretations of traditional Palestinian songs and intimate vocal storytelling, she creates spaces where personal history meets collective experience. For the Disquiet series, she presents a performance that invites audiences into an emotional landscape where voice becomes archive, witness, and connection.
*
Ghayath Almadhoun is a Palestinian poet born in Damascus in 1979, and who moved to Sweden in 2008. He has published five volumes of Arabic poetry, with his latest, I Brought You a Severed Hand, released in 2024. His poetry has been translated into nearly 30 languages. Almadhoun has also created several poetry films and curated numerous events, readings, and literary anthologies.
*
Dror Feiler (b. 1951, Tel Aviv) is a Swedish composer, performer, and visual artist based in Stockholm. His work spans orchestral, chamber, electroacoustic, and installation contexts, marked by extreme sonic intensity and political urgency. His work confronts violence, memory, resistance, and the politics of sound. His practice links aesthetics and activism, rejecting neutrality.
*
Tony Buck is regarded as one of Australia’s most creative and adventurous exports, with vast experience across the globe. As a drummer, percussionist, improviser, guitarist, video maker and producer, he has been involved in a highly diverse array of projects but is probably best known around the world as a member of the trio “The Necks”.

The Hologram: a peer-to-peer care protocol @th3_h0l0gram

This workshop is offered for people who are new to The Hologram to learn about the history and reasoning behind The Hologram practice, as well as an opportunity to experiment with it together. The practice itself values and puts together the processes of personal introspection, social cooperation, and strategic anti-capitalist organization. The workshop takes 3 hours and is composed of ⅓ part presentation, and ⅔ part participation. Everyone who joins us will be well supported, challenged, and invited to join the larger global Hologram community of practitioners.

What is The Hologram?

One part social practice, one part technology of revolution, and one part feminist science fiction come to life, The Hologram is a lightweight, replicable, autonomous protocol for human cooperation which at its simplest level sees three people (a triangle) offer care, support and transformative questions to a fourth (the hologram). Soon members of the triangle themselves become holograms with new triangles and the health virus spreads. In time, the triangle becomes a living medical record for the hologram. We hacked everyday online tools to make this open-source, peer-to-peer, viral social technology feel warm and accessible.

Magdalena Jadwiga Härtelova is a curator and group facilitator who works to create sneaky training grounds for autonomous organizing and collective liberation. They are one of the founding members of Casino for Social Medicine, a volunteer run space on Berlin’s Sonnenallee that defines itself as “part time coffee house, part time mutual aid gamble, part time clinic for collective experiences.”

BOTH MORE AND LESS THAN ITSELF is a new collaborative project featuring Liz Allbee (trumpet), Kobe Van Cauwenberghe (guitars), Emilie Škrijelj (accordion, electronics), Tom Malmendier (drums, percussion), Marina Cyrino (flutes, objects), and Matthias Koole (guitars, no-input).

On 16 April 2026, they will present a 60–80-minute piece that they have been developing during a three-day residency at Studioboerne45, employing a variety of collaborative strategies.

The ensemble has an unusually wide instrumental range. The musicians will bring setups moving between acoustic sources, experimental amplification, electronics and preparations.
