Not sure if I ever posted that one… It was back in 2016 and definitely one of my favorite filming moments.

Shout out to @mspfilms , @scottgaffski and the entire crew. Killer trip! 🎥🔥

There’s so much behind this ONE SHOT that now in retrospect it’s quite crazy that we where able to pull it off… 😅 First off, the insane drone wizardry from our director @christophthoresen following me down this complicated line with his DJI Inspire (yes it’s not a racedrone shot), flying super close on the first section, topshot, avoiding the cables, racing around the corner to catch up with me, super close to the wall and then needing to take out all the speed to not accidentally send it into the trees. And everything is still on it until the end 🤯🔥

But there was also a lot of stuff leading up to figuring out how to make it work. Being there for a while scoping and shooting the urban section I had enough time to let my mind roll about that line, make a plan with @gimbalskier how to do it and piecing together every movement in my head bit by bit.

Besides the fact that this face is north facing and really sheltered from the sun, we also had a start of the winter that I’ve never seen before at home with so much snow in the valley to actually form pillows (incredibly rare in the alps) and cold temperatures for a month straight.

We ended up trying this shot 3 times, waiting for descent resets in between. On the first try, the pump-track was too far apart and the in-run to it wasn’t shaped well enough. I lost all the speed and pretty much stopped getting to the end of it. On the second try I crashed on the pillows, and on the 3rd try everything finally worked out!

Also @christophthoresen really had to visualise and scope the way he’s gonna fly to get the best shot possible, be confident in his skills and minimise the risk of messing it up. There’s a lot more to it which I won’t explain since this text is already way to freaking long 😅.

Anyway, the day we shot this, the temperatures rose, fucked up all the snow and it wouldn’t have been possible to get back to it another time… #teamworkdreamwork #theultimaterun #bergwerksmuseumridnaun

Hunt & Punt, it’s kind of a theme. The ability to pivot in the backcountry is crucial, and this team and these athletes did it on repeat. Watch how it all shook out in Alaska, TOMORROW.
