This symbol is found all over the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Oldest surviving LingLing-o were made of nephrite jade from 500 BC . Northern tribes in the Philippines like the Ifugao, Bontoc, Kankaneay, and Kalinga had preserved this symbol and continued to be part of their traditions. I will be teaching the Walis (broom) making workshop for Day 1 of Anito gathering on Saturday, Nov. 1st : 12pm-6pm. We will create a contemporary @nativesol style hand broom piece and discuss the history and materials traditionally used in Philippines and different styles , spiritual , folklore connections of various regions.
