Working on my new full length album which will be coming out this fall 2026. It features a slew of guest collaborators and a variety of instrumentation and conceptual strategies will be added - tasking some of my most trusted and longest standing (and some first time)collaborators for this one. Couldn’t be more excited snd humbled. For now, I’m staying in the studio and tracking and rehearsing except for this weekend where I’ll be heading down to @handbagfactoryla to perform for Hell In A Handbag 15 Festival w/ tons of amazing artists, will have some new @malocculsionmerch in tow as well as a @ratskinrecords mega haul. I’ll also be at @gototradeschoolFor their sound swap this Saturday for 12-5 presented by @zumaudio - Pull up!

A festival celebrating a collective built on persistence resistance, and an uncompromising DIY ethic. A label for experimental, underground, and outsider music and art—prioritizing artistic risk, emotional honesty, and a home for rebel, counter mainstream, BIPOC, trans, queer, artists.

On 03/28 at 6pm, Transient will do a debut improvised duet with electronic artist LX Rudis (of The Units, Tuxedo Moon). They became friends as members of the legendary Drum Machine Museum 26 years ago.

For 27 years David R. Molina has performed experimental and improvised music as Transient. A few guest collaborators have been: Darren Johnston (trumpet), sound artist Yvette Jackson, George Cremaschi (bass); drummers Kevin Woodruff & Mike Meanstreetz; Leah Vanessa Bachar (vocals); electronic musicians: Bobby Cosmos, Haydee Jimenez, Thomas Dimuzio, Garret La Fever, Miguel Hernandez, Mickey Tachibana, Kyron and Malocculsion; saxophonists: the late Marco Eneidi, Drew Ceccatto, & Marc Williams; filmmaker Anna Geyer, and performance artist Violeta Luna. 

He has created music and sound design for theatre, dance, and video productions for 30 years. He has invented instruments displayed at galleries and museums. His work focuses on social justice, and collaborating with marginalized & oppressed communities.

Aside from being part of many legendary art/punk groups in the 80’s, Lx Rudis is better known for his work in Video Games and Game Consoles. He was a developer for the Atari Lynx handheld, the Atari Jaguar 64 bit console and Leapfrog’s ‘Leapster’, and helped the USA launch of Sega’s 16 bit ‘Genesis’ console. He held several Executive positions within the videogame industry; working for Atari, Sega and Konami. Lx remains active in Experimental and Improvised music. He and Winston Tong have collaborated for over two decades.

On 03/28 at 6pm, Transient will do a debut improvised duet with electronic artist LX Rudis (of The Units, Tuxedo Moon). They became friends as members of the legendary Drum Machine Museum 26 years ago.

For 27 years David R. Molina has performed experimental and improvised music as Transient. A few guest collaborators have been: Darren Johnston (trumpet), sound artist Yvette Jackson, George Cremaschi (bass); drummers Kevin Woodruff & Mike Meanstreetz; Leah Vanessa Bachar (vocals); electronic musicians: Bobby Cosmos, Haydee Jimenez, Thomas Dimuzio, Garret La Fever, Miguel Hernandez, Mickey Tachibana, Kyron and Malocculsion; saxophonists: the late Marco Eneidi, Drew Ceccatto, & Marc Williams; filmmaker Anna Geyer, and performance artist Violeta Luna.

Tropisphere is a cinematic synth trio infused by the sound of dark wave soundtracks, avant-garde electronics and subtropical rhythms. Crash landing somewhere in the hell-scape of a John Carpenter film and the early San Francisco school of experimental synth punk from the late 1970s & early 80s. Formed in Oakland, circa, 2023 -- sharing three members of local psych-cumbia band, Ritmos Tropicosmos.

Vocalist and synth player Eli Reyes carves out a story, etched in blood and flowers with a voice as sweet as it is evil and pulverizing. Jake Rodriguez lays down a bed of synth tones that can warp your mind from the inside out and moody rhythms that will get your head banging; leaving the last nail in the coffin for Bobby Cosmos to drive home with his super-phased bass lines, mechanical drums and cerebral synth melodies. Together, they bring an arsenal of industrial rhythms, street-wise noise and melodic texture to the fold — somewhere in the vein of synth pioneers such as Kraftwerk or Tangerine Dream...at other times, echoing those many waves of aforementioned Frisko Freaks.
