On the 14th of December, in a motel room in Owen Sound, Tao Richard Liu was born.Named because we loved that Tao in Mandarin means peach, or strong wave, and a story Daniel loved in his childhood, momotaro, peach boy, was led by a monkey and a dog, mine and Daniel’s Chinese zodiac animals.
We drove the 40 minutes to Owen sound early in my labour so I wouldn’t have to rush to the hospital if my labour progressed quickly, but it was still so early that we got a night at a motel three minutes from the hospital. We toyed with the idea of driving all the way home, but ended up getting a room.
Two hours after checking into the hotel, I woke up basically full blown in the middle of giving birth. We called the midwives who rushed to the room, and with the help of the paramedics, the midwives, and @danielryleigh , Tao was born shortly after 2am.

The tireless @cafe.noire for literally everything good in my life, (including rushing to Owen sound at 1am and taking care of me as we schlepped to the hospital after)
I was told through my pregnancy that Tao would be in the 50th percentile, alas, meet my 10 lb son.
Crazy way to kick off the holiday season!

With @matchadive , @saugiesstop , the renovation at @thetworiverschurch , and a toddler, it’s been absolutely brutal, but we’re making it work thanks to everyone around us, thank you again to everyone for making the dreamwork. (Since teamwork makes it, that is.)
