“Baye Fall” è il decimo brano ufficiale della raccolta “Happy Dancehall Riddim”, prodotta da Morello Selecta per Yah Man Records. La crew di produttori Mad a Road si affida questa volta alla voce inconfondibile di Khadim, artista salentino di origine senegalese e frontman, insieme a Flavio, del gruppo “Ghetto Eden”, famoso per le loro performance infuocate nelle dancehall di tutta Italia.
Cantante dotato di un potenziale canoro esplosivo e di uno stile unico nel suo genere, forgiato negli anni e capace di mantenere sempre un’identità precisa, Khadim utilizza il dialetto salentino per affrontare tematiche di attualità, contaminato dai richiami alla musica tradizionale africana della comunità senegalese, una delle più numerose in Italia.
“Baye Fall”, termine che richiama il movimento religioso fondato da Cheikh Ibrahima Fall, affonda le radici in concetti come il lavoro, caratteristica fondante della religione stessa, l’allontanamento dalla materialità e la scoperta di sé stessi per avvicinarsi a Dio. Ed è proprio all’interno della traccia che si evince l’insieme di principi con cui l’artista affronta ogni giorno la propria vita, spingendo il movimento musicale attivo da anni nel Salento, basato su valori come l’onestà, l’uguaglianza, la lotta per i diritti e l’amore per il prossimo. “Fimmene delu Salentu” è il nono brano ufficiale della raccolta “Happy Dancehall Riddim”, prodotta da Morello Selecta per Yah Man Records. A supportare il team di produzione Mad a Road è una delle voci femminili più rappresentative e rispettate del panorama reggae italiano: La Marina. Cantante salentina dallo stile inconfondibile, vanta più di vent’anni di carriera in giro per l’Italia e innumerevoli collaborazioni, alcune delle quali diventate pietre miliari del genere.
Un’artista sempre impegnata nelle tematiche sociali, a difesa delle donne e del territorio, nonché figura di riferimento per le nuove generazioni di salentine che nella cantante riconoscono l’esempio di una donna forte e indipendente. Non a caso, la tematica centrale del brano è rappresentata dalla figura della donna nel concetto più istintuale di femmina: un omaggio alle virtù innate e naturali e alla loro forza creatrice connessa all’universo. In particolare, la dedica alle donne salentine si evince dal chiaro riferimento al canto da lavoro “Fimmene fimmene”, una canzone di protesta utilizzata dalle cosiddette “Tabacchine” del Salento, che denunciavano le dure condizioni di lavoro nei campi, gli abusi e le molestie da parte dei padroni. Un brano potente che arriva dritto al punto, incoraggiando tutte a credere in sé stesse e a rimanere connesse alla natura, alle arti e a non rinunciare mai a quel mix di forza e sensibilità che le rende uniche, caratteristiche che contraddistinguono senza dubbio anche lo stile di questa pioniera del reggae salentino.
