Read that again.

As we prepare for the 2026 Day of Remembrance, I am reminded that remembrance is not passive. Remembrance is resistance. Remembrance is responsibility. Remembrance is activation.

People are tired of empty statements, performative posts, and selective outrage. People are searching for spaces rooted in truth, healing, history, accountability, and action.

I am honored to moderate this conversation alongside actor and artist Tristan Mack Wilds, with Deborah Watts, cousin of Emmett Till and co founder of the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation, and Brandon Williams, nephew of George Floyd.

This is bigger than an event.
This is legacy work.
This is community work.
This is soul work.

Because what we do not remember, we risk repeating. And in a time where history is being erased, rewritten, mocked, and commercialized, we must fight even harder to preserve the truth.

What is a mother? Different people may have different answers to that but to me, it’s simple. A mother is YOU. being able to see just what the queens that have raised us were able to make happen, (thank you for everything @momminique & @bjhdcgurl), and the myriad of queens that have poured into us, (@thesherylleeralph, @laleepops, @thedanae_experience, Aunt Liz, etc.), I can see the different shades that are present in this ever growing fabric of Motherhood. and may i tell you, Queen Nina, you wear that fabric well. Happy Mother’s day to you, and all the mother’s everywhere. i love you to life. ♥️♥️♥️
