It's like looking at a fragment of an engine room ⚙️

@lukavanderputten takes us through the preparation of her exhibition @zebrastraat and her process of creating her art. In Luka's work, space is created through a combination of objects, reflections, overlaps, and multifocal perspectives. The fast brush strokes and overlaps give a sense of movement. As part of her process she collects discarded industrial objects and sets them up using mirrors and different kind of arrangements. These setups function as the basis of her work and help her shape different kinds of spaces in the paintings.

Through the SHOWCASE#ART initiative, @zebrastraat offers visual artists a platform to showcase their work to a wide audience, without any commercial objectives.

In de maand mei vult Luka Van Der Putten de vitrine in de XYZ Lounge. In haar schilderijen creëert de combinatie van objecten, spiegelingen, inschuivingen en multifocale perspectieven de ruimte. Tegelijk ligt de focus op de aard van de objecten zelf, die als portret of in een specifieke situatie naar de voorgrond treden. De verschillende of singuliere objecten krijgen, door middel van afwisselend snelle en trage penseelvoering, uitsparingen en het gebruik van diverse verfsoorten zoals industriële lak, een eigen activiteit toegekend: ze roteren, zijn op wandel, worden gereanimeerd of zijn verkleefd met het oppervlak.
