Projection mapping a painting is something I have long been thinking about and it was very satisfying to get it out into the world.

The painting is called ‘Pure Consciousness Within an Empty Mind of Infinite Possibility’ which is a mantra I was once given by my old crazy uncle / Zen Master, David Chitty. The projections loop in rhythms of this mantra and promote a slow deep breathing along with the visuals

I sketched the idea for these paintings directly after a breathwork and sound journey by the incredible pair @mikkelsonne.breath and @laerke.frigioni . Thank you for that experience. My intention was to visualise sound within and around my body.

The light boxes are made up of three painted planes of glass, and a layer of frosted acrylic to diffuse the LEDs on the last layer. All layers are housed within a custom built frame made from pine.

⟡ Rotation hos Efter4 ⟡

Kom forbi og oplev første udgave af Rotation, vores nye månedlige udstillingsplatform, hvor en ny kunstner hver måned udstiller sine værker på Efter4’s vægge.

Første rotation er med @lukaskeysell , som arbejder malerisk ud fra en intuitiv og meditativ proces. Hans værker bevæger sig gennem energiske linjer, mønstre og abstrakte strukturer, hvor form, komposition og visuel fortælling får lov at folde sig ud. Med inspiration fra gamle civilisationer, tidlige billedformer og shamanistiske traditioner kredser de om fælleskulturelle spor og erfaringer på tværs af tid og sted.

Du er inviteret d. 26 til udstillingsåbning, hvor vi holder åbent hus fra kl. 10 til 18 i forbindelse med Veras Marked.

Udstillingen kan som udgangspunkt opleves på hverdage mellem kl. 9 og 16, når der er folk i huset. Andre tidspunkter kan aftales, og du er altid velkommen til at skrive for at planlægge et besøg.

The title became a lot more than just a theme to work around, I really took time to meditate on the idea of an inner light within us that we can access and project outward. I spent many hours meditating inside a float tank (sensory deprivation tank) emptying my mind so that visualisations of this inner light could shine through and become these paintings.

An important message in the Tao Te Ching reads:
