Last week we premiered in NY and LA, and it’s been a beautiful experience inviting you into the world of our movie.
Sharing the film and talking about the story has made me appreciate Julie Pacino’s artistry even more. Rose’s journey is a descent inwards, and I love how Julie subverts linear time and every expectation by drawing you further and further into Rose’s psyche as the film progresses.
I did this painting inspired by the film. I wanted to capture Rose’s cycle of descent and return, the inner fire burning, the doors reflected in the water as the entrance to her subconscious.

I Live Here Now

Every now and then you get lucky enough to be part of an art work that breaks the boundaries of everything you expected.

This film took me on a wild, circuitous path to unexpected parts of the psyche and deep subconscious. It scared me in ways I couldn’t have imagined — what could be scarier than your own subconscious!

Yet- There is a healing force in this story. There is a healing force in this film that drags you through the depths for the sake of unearthing is what needs to be seen in order to become whole.

To watch this film is to open yourself to an experience. It’s for the brave & the curious. The healing force inside it will take you too — if you let it. I dare you to find out.

You’ll be treated to delicious performances from our @__sarahrich @laraclear @madbrew, and you can live in a rom-com moment with @mattrife. Our queen Sheryl Lee is the most powerful villain on screen & guiding force off screen.

Hi! I’m creating a fundraiser to support girls who are survivors of human trafficking. I’ve volunteered a couple of times teaching creative workshops with @faceofjustice_cr and I’m always blown away by their strength and bravery. Now you can help them too- by donating to this fundraiser! It was really uplifting to see the growth that comes when they receive the support they need in the safe home at Casa Libertad. Please support their ongoing rehabilitation, therapy, and some funds will also go towards building a garden to bring flowers and beauty into their home. Rescue is the just first step towards recovery, and they need your support to heal. Thank you 🩷

I read about one of his girlfriends- Jennifer Goode. And I had the thought, ‘wow it would be so cool to play her in a film.’

Three years later, I was cast to play Jennifer in a Julius Onah film, with my friend Kelvin Harrison Junior as Basquiat. It was one of those strange full circle moments, that was even more fulfilling than I could have imagined. It’s going to be a really special film.

The best part was meeting Jennifer- she invited me out to the Turtle Conservancy in Ojai to talk about her life with Basquiat in the 80s. It was such an incredible experience, talking about art and relationships, I was particularly inspired by her resilience, kindness, and her eye for beauty. And I met endangered tortoises at the conservancy all at the same time!

It was a really inspiring journey, and so magical to be part of this beautiful film.
