Directed by Gus Van Sant, DEAD MAN’S WIRE is based on the true events of February 8, 1977, when Tony Kiritsis entered the office of Richard Hall, president of Meridian Mortgage Company, and took him hostage with a sawed-off shotgun rigged with a ‘dead man’s wire’ running from the trigger to his own neck. DEAD MAN’S WIRE is now released across theatres in the UK.

Cinematographer Arnaud Potier, AFC @losbosques and director Gus Van Sant @gusvan join interviewer Arlene Nelson, ASC to break down their approach to Dead Man’s Wire, a historical crime drama centered on the 1977 Tony Kiritsis kidnapping. They discuss crafting a 1970s handheld visual language, using refurbished broadcast cameras for vintage news textures, and building a 360-degree lighting plan that enabled multi-camera movement throughout the 20-day shoot.

Featuring cameos by both boxers, they both invade each others daily lives taking shape of everyone they come across. Directors Megaforce use this anxiety to great effect that pays homage to a classic music video and brings it into the modern era.
