After nearly 15 years of working as Creative Director with indie labels, Austin Hart aka L’Orange has left to create his own company- Old Soul Music. The first two artists announced on their roster: L’Orange and the group Marlowe with Solemn Brigham.

Old Soul Music is a new, artist-forward record label with a modern approach to helping musicians. Our primary goal is to help independent artists release their music more effectively than ever before and help artists focus on what is most important- their art.

Full Context

This year exposed the limits of growing quickly. We expanded into vinyl while still building the infrastructure to support it, which created issues with timelines, communication, and fulfillment. I take full responsibility for those gaps. Growing a small business isn’t easy & personal issues in my life have definitely affected our progress, but that’s not an excuse. Our system needed updating.

So, we have a new system for 2026+

We’ve hired a new physical operations manager and they are now guiding all manufacturing, fulfillment, distribution & logistics. This positions us to take on larger volume with consistent timelines, clearer communication, and global distribution. Retail partners, especially in Europe, will begin carrying our titles so international fans can buy locally without high shipping costs of international shipping.

For transparency, this year carried a heavy personal load: a divorce, moving houses three separate times, family illness, and hurricane Helene to end last year displaced us for six weeks. I’m not saying this to justify the issues or make excuses. I just think anyone who is still reading this deserves the transparency I’m promising.

The goal going into 2026 is clear: a sustainable environment where artists have every advantage, fans have a smooth experience, and where creativity and music are the focus.
