The fifth Snapt installment claimed 28.5% of the overall vote, holding off STIMULANT by @james.kates and @ilovetables, which finished on 27%. Proof, if any was needed, that this was a good year to care about surf films again.

Sixty premieres in 30 countries, three and a half years in the making, and one hour and 17 minutes on screen. If this is Logan Dulien’s final word in surf cinema, it’s hell of a way to sign off.

Over two decades, he’s poured time, money, and belief into a narrow slice of surf culture, often when there was little financial incentive to do so.

“I’m more obsessed with the outcome than the payout,” he said.

The late great Jason Bogle !! Not many had an impact on me & my love for surfing and wanting to learn how to tube ride ride like this guy . He was a Brilliant barrel rider , great competitor making multiple podium QS finals from heavy Pipe & Sunset Events to knee high grinding comps in Japan . He was featured on Multiple covers of @surfer_magazine . Was RVCA’s first ever team rider . His resume was thick but his heart was even bigger . It’s been around 20+ years since he passed but I think about him often . Gone way too soon but never forgotten and grateful for the memories and all the surf knowledge he tried his best to teach this California Kook . No chance will ever see a kid from Kailua ruling backdoor rocking Celtics / # 33 Lardy Bird Jersey ever again . Had to throw in some cranberries 🎵 one of his favorites . Thank you to the OG 🎥 @therealtupat for nailing these clips decades ago , saving em in the vault so we can pay homage to legends like Bogle for many more years to come 🙏

47th birthday surf bender last week in 🇲🇽 . Traveled south with no other surfers and spent the trip hanging and trading waves with the local crew . Light winds & endless south swell lines for 2 days straight sent me home surfed out & extra crispy . Took this photo from the 5th floor ( might have to frame this memory ) . Thanks to the locals for the good vibes & hospitality and @surfline for nailing the forecast 🎯 solo strikes & life after Snapt ain’t so bad 😂

Hands down 1 of the most special moments I’ve witnessed . Nobody has experienced the heartbreak journey of falling short of qualifying by one heat 3 straight years in a row . The emotional agony and pain of defeat , the mental and financial hardship of loosing all your sponsors. At one point the Jr world Champion had the most prestigious support in the game from Redbull to Quik he was marked the next big thing from Brazil but after falling short of qualifying multiple years they let him go one by one eventually leaving him completely sponsor less . A year ago after seeing his dream burn into flames one heat shy of the tour again I knew he was broken mentally and financially so I couldn’t let him give up on his dreams or his destiny . Felt like the universe was testing him and he just needed help . I knew he had the talent , I think the whole surf world knew he belongs on tour and not as a journeyman but as a X factor , a super talent & upgrade addition to the tour . I called him up a day after he missed qualification last year and told him I know you don’t have the sponsors or-finances to compete on the Challenger next year so I’m going to step in and pay for you to travel /compete in the challenger series . I’ll use miles , points and cash until you pick up a sponsor . He sounded confused why I woulddo that for him especially since making the tour has zero to do with making a Surf filmbut honestly there’s no better feeling for me then helping someone that’s down & out that I truly believe in . Well it’s been a crazy year , he made his section in the movie , picked up a major sponsor through his childhood hero @julian_wilson @rivvia.projects ,made the final of the US Open & most important he finally made the world tour . I can honestly say I’ve never been more happyto see a friend achieve there dream & to play a small part of his journey is something I will always cherish way more then making a surf film.Matt so excited to see you shine on the @wsl world tour exactly where you have belonged . It Was never if was only when & you quitting was never going to happen on my watch brother . Proud is a understatement , Congrats @mateusherdy & Game ON
