**~FOR SALE~** This little camper named Vanzinho (‘little van’ with a Portuguese twist) has been my trusted companion since 2016 but with the addition of the baby, we need an extra seat! It’s a 2016 Nissan NV 200 bought off the lot. My partner built it out with fridge, lights, fan, vent, deep cell recharging battery…all the essentials for compact comfort! (He also maintained it really well with frequent oil changes, tire rotations etc.) Sleeps one or two with the convertible bed/bench!

While working for an international medical charity called @cardiac_alliance in places like Libya and Iraq (pictured here), I started following other large humanitarian aid organizations such as:
@savethechildren, @doctorswithoutborders, @unicef and @worldfoodprogramme to learn about their programs and the good work they do. I find them to be a great source of on the ground information for the places you may read about in the headlines. Check them out, get informed.

I worked in Libya and Iraq during the rise and fall of ISIS. While traveling around those country’s felt scary at times, I didn’t worry as much while at work because hospitals are protected under international law. What happened on Oct 7th is a horrific tragedy. But Israel’s targeting/bombing hospitals is not an acceptable response. #CeasefireNow

In the lovely haze of my first month postpartum I have spent an incredible amount of time struggling/learning to breast feed. Doing so has left me with lots of ‘down time’ to think about current world events. My heart aches for the innocent lives lost, injured and taken hostage on Oct 7th. And my heart aches equally for the innocent lives lost, injured and scared in Gaza.As I saw during my years working in Libya and Iraq, and as I now have new appreciation for: all mothers love their children the same. I support a ceasefire.

What a difference a week can make. Last Sunday for my 39th birthday, Matt and I got in our last pitches as a team of two at Lovers Leap. Today, we welcome home our future rope-gun, Maya Lupine Othmer born after three years of #ProjectingPregnancy. Undoubtedly worth every second.

What a difference a week can make. Last Sunday for my 39th birthday, Matt and I got in our last pitches as a team of two at Lovers Leap. Today, we welcome home our future rope-gun, Maya Lupine Othmer born after three years of #ProjectingPregnancy. Undoubtedly worth every second.

Yesterday I turned 35…weeks pregnant. It’s been an extremely challenging route to get here and continues to be a little more A4 than I’d like with a growth restriction diagnosis, 2 hospital visits for excessive Braxton hicks contractions and late stage breech positioning. But I am grateful that I…that we…have made it this far.

Near the end of the first trimester with this pregnancy, I got annoyed with all the charts comparing embryonic/fetal size to fruits or other silly things. So I made this. It is in no way anatomically accurate. But it did make me laugh during those high stress early weeks. #projectingpregnancy
