📍#Afghanistan: From Jalalabad, WFP’s Carl Skau describes a worsening malnutrition crisis:

🔴 Clinics are running out of supplies.
🔴 Mothers and children are being turned away.

Millions are already malnourished, now funding gaps and cut-off supplies are pushing Afghans to the limit.

🚨Rising operational costs mean the same funding is reaching fewer people.

WFP has already been forced to stop assisting 1.5 million people as the cost of fuel, food and transport reduces our reach. Up to 9 million people could be cut from assistance this year if high prices persist and the conflict in the Middle East continues.

✈️ At the core of WFP's operations lies its supply chain: thousands of people, trucks, planes and ships sourcing, storing, moving and distributing food and cash – all in a bid to provide the best form of assistance to the right people at the right time.

From Ukraine's wheat fields 🌾 to the frontline 📦.

WFP supports communities living near the frontline by distributing food bought and grown locally.

We help small farmers and food producers continue or restart work with local purchase, equipment, trainings, and de-mining.

“Everything we had, we lost,” she says. With WFP support, Malak’s family can eat again — two proper meals a day, and nutrition supplements to help protect her children from malnutrition.

“If this assistance stops,” Malak says, “we will certainly suffer.”

Without urgent, sustained support, lifelines like this are at risk.
