The selection of Development Angels programme on site and (for the first time) online is out !

For the first time, LIM² is opening its doors wider by selecting 78 creative producers from all across Europe to participate in an online workshop & masterclass in September. Guided by @lebosantoine , script-consultant, founder of LIM and Le Groupe Ouest, and @vincawiedemann, former director of the National Film School of Denmark and story supervisor on films and TV series for directors such as Lars von Trier, this online masterclass will introduce the key tools and methodologies used during our development workshops.
At the same time, this autumn, twelve creative producers from eleven European countries will gather in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages at @legroupeouest to take part in the new edition of the Development Angels workshop, organised within the framework of the European programme “LIM² | Less is More”.
The first part of the workshop will take place online through sessions scheduled in September. These introductory sessions will allow participants to discover the LIM² methodology and the tools they will later be able to apply in their daily professional practice.
The second part will take place at Le Groupe Ouest in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages during an intensive residency organised just before the launch of “LIM MEET”. The first part of the workshop will take place online through sessions scheduled in September. These introductory sessions will allow participants to discover the LIM² methodology and the tools they will later be able to apply in their daily professional practice.
The second part will take place at Le Groupe Ouest in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages during an intensive residency organised just before the launch of “LIM MEET”. Participants will work on feature film projects at a very early stage of development and strengthen their analytical and feedback skills throughout the sessions.

Cannes 2026 is shaping up to be a strong vintage despite (or because of?) the geopolitical context, rich with films that try to show us where humans can or should listen closely, awaken their conscience, or rekindle a desire for humanist struggles. A selection that feels disconnected from Hollywood, giving space to fresh voices we truly need.

In this vibrant context, the LIM² team is delighted to see several filmmakers and projects supported through the programme featured in this year’s Festival selection.

Among the highlights, BEN’IMANA, the debut feature by Rwandan director Marie-Clémentine @dusabejambo, has been selected in Un Certain Regard. It thus becomes the first Rwandan feature film ever to join the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival. Described as “stunning” by Thierry Frémaux, the film impresses through its sensitivity and the strength of its perspective, carried by a team made up of 90% Rwandan talent. A powerful and necessary film that went through LIM / Less is More.

On the short film side, Portuguese director Daniel @soaresfilm, who took part in LIM in 2024, joins the Official Competition with A FEW THINGS HAPPENING BY A RIVER, once again confirming the emergence of bold new cinematic voices supported by the programme.

This Cannes presence naturally echoes the journey of TIGER STRIPES by @nelleu, developed through LIM and awarded the Grand Prize at La Semaine de la Critique in 2023,a landmark moment in the programme’s history and a strong sign of the international resonance of these films.

More broadly, Cannes 2026 also celebrates several filmmakers connected to @legroupeouest (creator of LIM). Lila Pinell, who took part in Le Groupe Ouest’s founding programme (La Sélection Annuelle), presents her debut feature SHANA at the Directors’ Fortnight.
