So much excitement seeing @lookmumnocomputer representing the #UK and #Ramsgate at Eurovision tonight… an unbiased opinion says that was the best song… had to celebrate with roly poly and custard, pepperoni pizza and pierogi for my second love #Poland (hence the head scarf). Two launches in two nights and the debut for @ramsgaterising our new youth title made possible by Pride in Place funding and the Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board. I’ve long wanted to launch a youth mag - in these times especially hearing from young people and giving them the tools of journalism feels essential. We hope it’s here to stay and are looking for ways to fund it into the future👂 Come along tonight (Weds) from 4pm @ramsgatearts.club get a copy, meet the team and find out more.

Here it is: our spring issue and wonderful to celebrate @piefactorymusic and the team’s huge success in their 16-month campaign - they now own the building and Ramsgate Youth Centre remains dedicated to providing youth services. A big win when spaces like this are fast disappearing nationally (making this a story @guardian also covered) and a joy to spend time with them seeing what they do.
Inside there’s more to celebrate with the @ramsiftvfest returning in March, a new artists’ studio opening, new pop-up venues… popping up with the support of @ramsgate_space, a model village being created by the community, @thethriftstoreramsgate opening in bigger premises, a new clothing venture @yardcloth_embracing coastal design, and in this National Year of Reading @go_all_in_2026 a look at Ramsgate’s thriving book clubs. There’s plenty more inside with the issue making its way to cafes and businesses in and around town today. @ramsgaterecorder #ramsgaterecorder #ramsgate

Late to post and I took no pics but in a room full of creative talent you can rely on someone to take a snap - here we are the @brightsidepublishing team on stage accepting our Highly Commended award in the Magazine of the Year category at the Kent Press and Broadcast Awards as a combined team @ramsgaterecorder @margatemercury @broadstairsbeacon @folkestonefoghorn @canterburycourier @whitstablewhistler @thedealdespatch A proud moment in a room filled with journos and producers from across Kent’s impressive media industry with the fabulous and funny @bbcmaryam as host. All just goes to show local journalism lives and thrives and that’s a brilliant thing!
