A huge thanks to @alexestorick for coming along to my studio a few weeks ago to interview (aka grill…) a very over-caffeinated me 💕
I’m really pleased with the outcome, it captures our conversation well and roams through digital, quantum and physical media.
We dig into questions of representation (see yesterdays post for more on that if you missed it), and quantum leading to a layered blurry aesthetic of multiple focus points for the audience, which are not easily captured by recording devices.
Have a gander and let me know what you think! 🗃️🔮

In ‘Ent- (non-earthly delights)’, artist Libby Heaney explores how quantum computing might transform the future of everyday life.
Heaney writes her own computer code to manipulate and animate watercolour painting, drawing on the inherent non-binary logic of quantum, to celebrate ‘hybridity, monstrosity’ and ‘magic’. Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s medieval monsters, Heaney’s work creates landscapes that seem to shift and breathe, and exploding structures that float and re-form.
Visitors can interact with Ent- (non-earthly delights) via QR codes, which activate the sculpture through Augmented Reality (AR).
Visit Frieze Sculpture in The Regent’s Park until 27 October 2024, and download the #BloombergConnects app to find out more about the works.
Bloomberg Connects is the Official Digital Guide for Frieze Sculpture.

So much fun performing Eat My Multiverse (2025 - ongoing) @escoladasartescatolica on Thursday
The work explores the self as quantum, unboundaried, unstable and deeply entangled to other humans and non-humans.
Circling the void of the quantum (un)real, it includes personal spoken narrative, mmmm words…. a live digital-quantum multiverse, movement, participation, and slime as flesh 🌀
This is the fourth iteration. And every time, I change it slightly, creating new patterns and forks
I WOULD LOVE THE FIFTH ITERATION TO BE IN LONDON 🙏🙏🙏 let’s do it folks 💖
Huge thanks to @joasiakrysa and everyone else involved. It’s been fab spending a bit of time with new people and in Porto 🫶☀️

I take a multiverse approach to the multiverse… 🌌
1. the multiverse is an interpretation of quantum mechanics known as many world theorem where all possible outcomes of quantum events exist as branches of contradictory parallel worlds. The multiverse is a quantum-only ontology where - when viewed collectively - there is no collapse and return to the macroscopic classical world. Each branch is inaccessible to entities within other branches.
2. For me, the multiverse is a good metaphor for our collective human and non-human subjectivities. The inner world of each subject is like a branch in the multiverse. Each subject’s felt experience is largely inaccessible to other subjects.
3. And now recursion comes in 🌀 I am interested in quantum self, how we are truly unbounded and deeply connected to other humans and no humans. The inner world of each individual subject is like a multiverse: conflicting emotions, hidden desires and drives, different narratives often at odds with each other, true and false memories, shadow, corresponding to different parts of self. Like a single branch of the multiverse, any seemingly fixed stable identity is merely an illusion.
4. The meanings of an artwork gleaned by many different subjects is like a multiverse. Death of the author = birth of a multiverse.
5. All the different branches of the multiverse are entangled so they sense and affect each other, even if other branches cannot be accessed directly.
I hope you get to cuddle my paintings as you enter Life in the Multiverse, my new commission @sainsburycentre until October.
Or join me for Eat My Multiverse in Porto tonight ✨

ART + TECH x COSMOS
Performance: Libby Heaney - Eat My Multiverse (2025) and in conversation with Joasia Krysa.
Thursday 28 May, The School of Arts Porto @escoladasartescatolica
This marks the closing session of the Art + Tech x Cosmos = programme exploring the intersections between art, technology, ecology and speculative thought.
Eat My Multiverse is a live projection of a multiverse and sound, unfolding the self as quantum: plural, relational and sensorially entangled across inner and outer worlds and bodies. Drawing on Libby Heaney’s wider practice exploring quantum materiality, consciousness and shared ontological fields, the work opens experiential encounters with multiplicity, where quantum phenomena is to be felt as lived conditions rather than abstract concepts.
Libby Heaney is a London based artist with background in Quantum Science. Working with quantum computing since 2019, her work has been exhibited internationally and awarded prizes including the Lumen Prize and the Falling Walls Art & Science Prize.
ART+TECH x COSMOS= is curated by Joasia Krysa, Nuno Crespo, Daniel Ribas, Jose Alberto Gomes.

Eat My Multiverse, 2025 - ongoing, performance with live quantum multiverse and participatory slime play, 30min
Heading to Porto tomorrow to perform the 4th iteration of Eat My Multiverse @escoladasartescatolica as part of Art + Tech x Cosmos = curated by @joasiakrysa
Eat My Multiverse explores the self as quantum, unbounded and deeply entangled with humans nature and machines.
It uses the logics of the multiverse (quantum-only ontologies or many worlds theory) to collapse past present futures and inner and outer worlds.
Pics courtesy of @mu_hybrid_art_house Feb 2026 and @sonarfestival June 2025
Exciting! See you there 💖

28 mai 2026 ● 18:30 ● AIP Blackbox
Nesta sessão Libby Heaney apresentará a performance Eat My Multiverse (2025-ongoing, performance com live project multiverse e som.
Synopsis (EN)
In this session, Libby Heaney will present the performance "Eat My Multiverse" (2025–ongoing, a performance featuring a live projection of a multiverse and sound. 30 minutes), followed by a discussion and a closing talk by Joasia Krysa. A huge thanks to @sainsburycentre Rosy Kat Jago @taniakmoore and everyone else for welcoming me into your wonderful museum, supporting me through the process and for a great fun opening and dinner last night 🌟
I didn’t really take many pics last night because I was too busy meeting lovely new people, but here’s a couple of quick snaps of my new quantum-digital installation Life in the Multiverse…
The two other shows that opened last night are stellar, go visit the Sainsbury Centre folks ☺️
