Last year we created the short documentary “Solidarity in Motion” for DAB – Diversitygerechtes Ausgehen in Berlin, initiated by @clubcommission.

The film explores structures of solidarity within Berlin’s club culture which is built on cohesion, openness and diversity. At a time when these values are increasingly under pressure, the film highlights how collective care, awareness and shared responsibility keep these spaces alive. Spending the summer immersed in these spaces, stories and people allowed us to understand the urgency and importance of this work.

Solidarity in Motion was created as part of DAB—Diversitygerechtes Ausgehen in Berlin (Diversity-Friendly Nightlife in Berlin), a project that has lived and promoted these values for over five years.

On this evening the photo series and video installation AURA’S DANCE accompanies the same-titled performance which puts into question how societal expectations placed on women have shaped female identity and contributed to prevailing notions around femininity. It contemplates the authenticity of identity and asks how a dancer, female, male or non-binary might express themselves if freed from societal constraints and gender binaries. The work concludes with an introspection of unexplored and suppressed aspects of the self.

SAVE THE DATE: Next week, Thursday, August 29, the interdisciplinary project AURA’S DANCE will be exhibited at Offsite by @wehrmuehle.

On this evening the photo series and video installation AURA’S DANCE accompanies the same-titled performance which puts into question how societal expectations placed on women have shaped female identity and contributed to prevailing notions around femininity. It contemplates the authenticity of identity and asks how a dancer, female, male or non-binary might express themselves if freed from societal constraints and gender binaries. The work concludes with an introspection of unexplored and suppressed aspects of the self.
