Went to see my work on display as part of @superfluxstudio 's major exhibition The Craftoscene at Welt Museum, Vienna yesterday. Such a joy to see the beautiful creations of my previous colleagues in person.
Our 2021 installation, Refuge for Resurgence, was one of the three exhibited. My handcrafted contribution was mainly the creation of all the unique, sculptural pieces of ceremonial, multi-species cutlery. All pieces were made in Orkney during lockdown from waste and detritus.
Even nicer was bringing my wee brother along and pointing out that 'that is part of the broken brake light on the old Toyota'; 'John angle-ground that metal for me in his farm workshop'; 'I made that from plastic washed up on the beach at Warbeth'; 'listen carefully and you'll hear that the prayer is read out by our family friend, Debbie'. It's funny seeing the bits and pieces of your life brought together in this new context.

💥We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new project 'THE LIBRARY', at the Museum of the Future @museumofthefuture Dubai. THE LIBRARY, our Vault of Life, is a vast interactive installation of thousands of species celebrating the story of life on Earth 🌍
Four years ago, we were invited to imagine, conceive and design an immersive experience that provokes and inspires visitors to actively engage with our ecological resurgence. Today, The Library (Vault of Life) opens within the vast gallery at the heart of the fourth floor of the Museum of the Future.
We’d like to extend our congratulations to the full team and partners who worked to bring the museum to life. Key credits:
