Kyle Forester

I recorded a cover of a Tom Petty song, Two Gunslingers, from the flawless Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers album “Into the Great Wide Open”, it’s on Bandcamp (link in bio) and maybe on other streaming services soon-ish? I’m also playing Wednesday night opening for Maria Taylor at Night Club 101 in New York’s East Village and I hope you’ll come if you can make it!

My new 5 song EP “Just Like Anyone” is out today in all the places music goes out to. Link in bio I guess.
Thanks very very much to @hampusohf and @stolentoaster and #samkulik for playing on it, to @talljuan for helping me finish it, to @jarvis_taveniere for mixing it, and to @timothy_stollenwerk for mastering it.
And to @jaypluck for making the artwork.
Playing 1/22 @union_pool and 2/22 @tubbyskingston

Next Thursday the 12th, at @tveyenyc , the KF Band rides again for the first time in a long time, and we’re honored to be playing with @garyolsonmusic and @_ezrat both of whom put out excellent records in 2020 when there were no shows.
TV Eye, for those who haven’t been, has a nice big outdoor area where you can hang out between sets and a very spacious room where the live music happens, so you shouldn’t have trouble enjoying an evening that is both musically-gratifying and covid-safe.
And thanks for the beautiful flyer @fliers_by_peter_speer

In celebration of the height (depths?) of summer, releasing our cover of Leiber and Stoller’s classic 1959 ode to rashes. Recorded during the sessions for my album Hearts in Gardens, with @hampusohf on drums, @stolentoaster on bass, #TheSamKulik on lotsa trombones, and @mattboynstagram behind the desk doing his best to make a record in 2020 that sounds like Percy Sledge. Also special shout out to @jaypluck for making the artwork and then fighting with tunecore when they rejected it cause the “v” isn’t a “v”. Bandcamp link in bio and it should also be on all streamers.

I haven’t played so few shows in a year since, like, 2001? (whenever it was before @mfade asked me to join Chasing Sunday and @curious_jellyfish asked me to join the Fisherman). But I’m very grateful to have taken part in a bunch of recordings that came out this year, and recordings are good cause you can just listen at home, you know? I made a damn Spotify playlist (link in bio) and of course if you really like something you should buy it on bandcamp.

It just doesn’t feel like a second Sunday of December without getting ready for a Kristmas Korner. Made a YouTube playlist of some klassics (didn’t have that many Xmas vids, so it starts with some of those and then it’s just all over the place), link in bio! Miss you guys.
New self-isolation lyric music video made by the mysterious and talented @paul_dally for the sorta title track from my album now up on YouTube (link in bio). Perfect for looking at in between looking at other stuff. I’m hopeful that we’ll get to go out and be together again by August (and this time we won’t just take it for granted), so I’ve rescheduled my album release show for August 8th! Tickets are available at the Sultan Room website. Also, gonna hop on the ig live for another “concert” this Friday at 7:30 est (taking requests starting now).
Was doing a lot to prepare for the show Saturday...got a damn haircut, working out the voice with some H&O...but obviously there’s bigger stuff happening and the show ain’t. I’m fine, but definitely touch base with the artists and musicians and freelancers and bartenders and stuff in your life.

My new record “Hearts in Gardens” is out today. Just under 4 years since the last one, which is twice as long as Phil Collins took between “Face Value” and “Hello, I Must Be Going” and I think that extra time really shows in the final product. So I hope you’ll check it out! It’s on Spotify and other places and you can buy it, as files or vinyls, on bandcamp.
Very happy to present this music video which Renaissance Man @andyadler100 kindly fashioned for the song “Strange Vision”, the last song I’ll be sharing from the album it’s on before you can listen to the whole thing on Friday. Please if you like get yourself comfortable and head over to Brooklyn vegan and from there to YouTube to watch it. Link in bio.

For all your waltzing needs, my new song is able to be streamed at @floodmagazine and other places. And if you wanna avoid any “spoilers” you can not listen to it and instead get a ticket for the album release show, 3/14 at @thesultanroom .
