While my job mainly involves supporting professional athletes (like here: me trying to keep with with Jakob at Cocodona), I sometimes like to hop in races myself!

@scoutmountainultras starts tomorrow. My training was prettttty medium 🚬🍷🚐 😬 so my goal is to finish and have my friends and athletes say something like “Wow Kyla didn’t do that bad!”

Also, so excited to see my Bozeman friends - we rented a 7 bedroom house, so I’ll for sure be getting a great nights sleep the night before. And while all the homies will be there - I’m mainly going no crew on this one. Drop bags are thiiick. Wish me luck, IMA NEED IT. Bib #65

I was in the Bay area for about 24 hours and somehow ended up with an apartment…

When everything you own is with you it feels inaccurate to say “I’m moving here” - instead, I’m just staying. After 16 months on the road, it just feels like the right time!

I’ll still be bouncing around and chasing trail races for work, but wow - having an address again feels luxurious.

I miss my Bozeman people deeply. I miss the Bridgers, Shine beers, M laps, Pete’s Hill, trail running with bear spray, and a dating pool consisting of 3 cowboys, 2 ice climbers, and a rotating handful of ski bums (who all have my number).

But I’m in a different place than I was when I moved to the mountains in 2019 - so I guess I’ve been pulled to the Marin.

2026 is rolling out to be a wild year already. Really, really excited to be here.

I’ve been hanging out in Arizona the past few weeks - mostly trying to get the @michael.versteeg family to adopt me. Progress has been slow but I think I’m wearing them down.

This is from Antelope Canyon last weekend where I impulsively jumped into a half marathon after being out with a broken toe for a couple months. Somehow managed to be the only person who got lost, cut the course, and was (self) DQ’ed - which feels like a special achievement in a half marathon going at a gentle tortoise pace.

Anyway. Arizona’s been fun, but calling an audible - heading to the Bay Area next week. See some of you at Big Alta and Canyons!
