Curtain Calll ist eine temporäre Installation im öffentlichen Raum, in einem Durchgang am Straußberger Platz, Friedrichshain, die zur Interaktion einlädt.

Organisiert von Raum www werden in den überdachten Durchgängen unter einem Wohnhaus zehn großformatige, bedruckte Stoffbahnen installiert, die sich zwischen den dortigen Säulen aufspannen und den architektonischen Raum neu gliedern.

Wo früher die staatlich orchestrierte 1. Mai Parade vorbei marschierte, laden wir nun zur Interaktion, so wie auch der ursprüngliche demokratische Impuls des 1. Mai, als politische Teilhabe jenseits „elitärer“ Institutionen galt.

Curtain Call ist kein museales Ereignis, sonden ein niedrigschwelliges Kulturangebot für zufällige Passant:innen und Ausstellungsbesucher:innen.

Die Arbeit greift die besondere räumliche Situation der Durchgänge auf – halb öffentlich, halb transitorisch – und verwandelt sie in einen Ort der Irritation und Interaktion.

Die textilen Bildträger werfen implizit die Frage auf: Was ist das hier? Sind sie Ausstellung, Intervention, Bühne, Vorhang, Schutzraum oder Hindernis?
Durch ihre Materialität und Beweglichkeit laden sie dazu ein, berührt, zur Seite geschoben oder als temporärer Rückzugsort genutzt zu werden.

Curtain Call ist ein dreitägiger experimenteller Kunstraum, außerhalb institutioneller Kontexte, der den ursprünglichen demokratischen Anspruch des 1. Mai als Tag der (politischen) Teilhabe belebt.

이번에 쵸이에서 선보이는 작품들은, 겨울을 맞이하며 첫눈을 기다리는 설레는 마음을 담아 제작하였습니다.
솔잎 사이로 고요히 내려앉은 눈의 모습을 모티프로 삼아, 차가운 겨울 공기 속 코끝의 시림과 눈(snow)이 주는 포근한 시각적 따스함, 그리고 그 안에 깃든 기쁨과 설렘을 푸른빛의 미묘한 농도 변화로 표현하였습니다. 이 그림이 하나의 창문이 되어, 잠시 시공간을 넘어 눈이 쌓인 풍경 속에 있는 듯한 기쁨과 순수한 즐거움을 느끼실 수 있기를 바랍니다.
식사하는 순간, 그 풍경의 한가운데서 겨울의 고요함과 설렘을 함께 나누시길 바랍니다.

Pine Needles, 26×21 cm, Oil and Acrylic on Canvas, 2025

박귀순 작가의 회화 앞에서 나를 움직인 것은 이미지가 아니라 숨이었다. 캔버스의 얕은 표면에서부터 피어오르는 공기, 그 얇은 깊이 속에서 그녀는 바람을 만들어냈다.
물감은 천 위에 얹혀 있는 것이 아니라 그 안에 스며 살아 있었다.
보이기도 하고 사라지기도 하는 경계에서, 표면은 조용히 호흡하고 있었다.

그녀는 내가 오래 찾아온 어떤 지점을 보여준다.
바로 그 숨,
표면이 되레 나에게 호흡을 돌려주는 순간을 그녀는 너무 자연스럽게 잡아낸다.
그녀의 작업에서 나는 시간의 흐름이 멈춘 듯 머무는, 피부에 스치는 바람 같은 정적을 느낀다.
거의 보이지 않지만, 부인할 수 없이 존재하는 그 숨결을.

Sobok Sobok

Through food, textiles, painting, and ceramics, Sobok Sobok explores an unfamiliar yet inspiring meeting point between art and dining.
Within this multi-sensory setting that embraces sight, touch, and taste, guests are invited to experience how different forms of art and cuisine naturally harmonize.

The project features a seven-course tasting menu by CHOI, accompanied by the works of three artists in painting, ceramics, and textile.
As CHOI’s first art dining event, each guest attending the dinner between November 14–16 (7 PM) will receive a small ceramic piece created especially for this occasion, as a gesture of gratitude.

In celebration of the opening, a preview event will be held on November 10 at 3 PM, offering an intimate look into the artists’ creative processes with live music.
The preview is open to everyone, even without a ticket — we warmly welcome your curiosity and presence.
