As the season of freshly harvested tea arrives, let’s take a closer look at the spirit of life found in Korean tea culture.

🌿 A Monk’s Way of Tea
In traditional Korean Buddhist temples, tea is not simply a drink but part of daily life and spiritual practice. Venerable Yeoyeon, who has inherited the tea spirit of Seon Master Choui, sees the process of making tea as a way of cultivating the mind. Every step, from roasting tea leaves and boiling water to pouring tea into a cup, carries an attitude toward nature and the depth of life.

On May 12, with support from the Korea Foundation (KF), the Elcano Royal Institute in Spain 🇪🇸 hosted the seminar “Facing the North Korea-Russia Alliance: EU-ROK Strategies for Deterrence and Cooperation” in Madrid. 🇪🇸
The seminar brought together experts from Korea and Europe to discuss cooperative strategies amid today’s evolving international security environment.

In his welcoming remarks, KF President Dr. Guido SONG emphasized the importance of strategic cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the European Union.

The event also featured participation from KF Korea Chairs and Korea Fellows across Europe, further enriching discussions on ROK-EU strategic cooperation.

Through partnerships with leading overseas research institutions, the KF continues to connect Korea and the world while expanding global public diplomacy networks. 💙

This program supports universities in strengthening public diplomacy education through:

✔ K-MOOC courses
✔ Outreach programs 🎓

Representatives from 14 universities gathered to share their initiatives, exchange best practices, and explore future collaboration.

The KF will continue to work with universities to expand the foundation for sustainable public diplomacy. 🤝
