Join us alongside @laviena.echev at @twotwo.online May 22-24 for a multi-sensory installation to celebrate our latest collection, Natural Technology.
Natural Technology is a collection built on contradiction. Organic fibers and recycled nylon. Soft palettes against metal hardware. Primitive silhouettes in synthetic form. It’s the juxtaposition of past and future, natural and artificial; an abstract tension that can’t be defined, only felt.
In collaboration with Creative duo, Laviena & Echev, we returned to the Portola Redwoods State Park, the lush Bay Area ecosystem that first inspired the collection, to document the garments within their source. Artists Alexey Seliverstov and Tata Vislevskaya moved through the forest dressed in the collection, field recording the intimate textures of old growth: canopy, water, wildlife, and atmosphere. Those recordings were reinterpreted by Groundislava, who composed an original score with the sounds of Portola, bottling up a place, a feeling, and a collection into a single space.

We dreamt up our SS26 collection, Natural Technology, during a camp trip in the Portola Redwoods early last year. Inspired by the idea of a lush Redwood forest being in such close proximity to a city, we were inspired by the concept of how Nature can coexist with what is man-made. Natural technology embraces both what’s organic and artificial; the past and the future. The collection mixes organic fibers with recycled nylons, soft palettes with metal hardware, and organic shapes with contrasting colors. It’s the juxtaposition of soft and hard; natural and artificial.
To celebrate the launch of Natural Technology, we returned to the Portola Redwoods State Park alongside Creative Duo, @laviena.echev to document the garments within the lush ecosystem that first inspired the collection. We documented the acclaimed field recorder, @grayskiesforever , alongside artist, @awomanundertheinfluence as they moved through the forest dressed in the collection, field recording the intimate textures of old growth: canopy, water, wildlife, and atmosphere. Those recordings were then reinterpreted by @groundislava , who composed an original score with the sounds of Portola - bottling up a place, a feeling, and a collection into a single space.

Inspired by Kara’s idea of ‘plugging’ headphones into a rock from our last shoot, we decided to bring it to life and build a world around it. @gilescarson helped us carve out real rocks to be able to play sounds directly from inside them, seamlessly blending nature & technology.
