Dad I don’t know what to say, because I know you’re chillin now. But we’ve been stepping in your shoes these past few days and it’s been a lot. I miss my shoes. This is all God’s planning. I’m not a fan of this chapter in my life, but I have to embrace it. Running through the city won’t be the same without you. I know life won’t be the same for any of us after this. There’s no going back, I prefer to grow into someone better.
I look at all my siblings and I’m just like wow we all met you at different times. Everyone always talks about how I was the favorite or the most spoiled but honestly think it’s DJ & Mani. They are boys so you just knew what to do for them. I still don’t know how to feel about this, but that’s ok I’m human. Everyday I ask myself is this real, I’m asking other ppl to just to make sure I’m not losing it. I’m giving myself grace.
I lost the only man on earth that I’d ever argue with. But I guess all the arguments, disagreements, heavy coaching and gems are paying off. I’ve grown so much in the last three weeks. The “To whom much is given, much is tested” thing is really getting to me right now. I’d never imagine burying my dad between his birthday & Father’s Day. But I can not Thank God enough for having all of my siblings, our families, and friends with us.
Last time we truly sat down and spoke I forced you to go with me to Peaches. You expressed your gratitude in my educational accomplishments, my career, and how I carry myself. It meant a lot to me, because sometimes people struggle to give you your flowers. Not speaking for everyone, but your mom is going to give you mercy and patience. To impress your dad and hear “I’m proud of you” just hit different. I wish I could tell everybody how cool you were but I know you don’t like social media lmaooo.
Thank you for all of my siblings, calling me 1000x a day to see where I’m at/ what I’m doing/ who I’m with and all of the ginger shots you forced me to take. Rest In Peace Dad, Happy Birthday, and Happy Father’s Day. Yes I will watch over mommie, gma, DJ & the rest of the kids. Bosses take losses, but this is not a loss. You know I’ll be up by tomorrow. 🤞🏽🤍🕊🍾🥂
