After the fitting meeting, we adjusted the jeans slightly—adding a bit more room around the hips while keeping the same shape through the legs.
The fabric is a Japanese selvage denim chosen for herself, along with the front pocket fabric, top button, rivets, stitch color, and leather patch.
Each detail was selected to match her taste and lifestyle.
These jeans are made just for her, from fit to finish.
We hope they become part of her everyday life and wear-in beautifully over time.

This is my favorite photo with my dad. One weekend morning he took me and my brothers to the portrait studio to take our annual kids photo. I was three years old and cried and cried because I wanted him to be in the photo with us. Despite being in his “running clothes” he hopped in the photo. He always laughed about this photo and I now treasure it.

My father Warren Thompson left this earth on March 28th at 8am. My brothers and I spent his last night watching over him as he peacefully transitioned to whatever comes after this world. We provided a last act of care and comfort towards a man who spent his entire life with the care and comfort of others as his greatest priority.
I wish I could adequately summarize my dad in the small space of an IG post, but the task seems too daunting right now. Instead I’ll borrow the words of a dear friend who said this to me “Your dad is such a light- he has always been THE definition of graciousness and warmth. I’ve never met anyone who could engage and make you feel so welcome and heard in a conversation”.
My mother died of cancer in 1995 and my father spent the last 29 years guiding us through the sadness of missing someone so important. I can’t fathom a life without either of them but I’ll use what I learned from my dad to get through the aches of early and long term grief and take comfort in hoping that they’re reunited in another realm.

During my work as a psychotherapist Im always surprised when people apologize for crying in front of me. Of all the places one can cry, I would think psychotherapy (and funerals) is a place we can all agree is an acceptable place to let out some tears. But I think it speaks to a greater idea that crying is something we should keep to ourselves. Years ago @bstosuy began to notice that he often saw people/strangers crying alone to themselves (a guy with a muffin, joggers, a guy with a mohawk eating a fruit salad) which he began to document in a series of tweets. It’s from those tweets that the idea of Sad Happens was born. Sad Happens is an anthology of essays about crying from 115 contributors. It’s a celebration of tears. We all cry for a multitude of reasons and I hope this book makes people pause before apologizing to anyone else for their tears. Beware: you will cry reading this book which is just a great reminder of how humans can connect to one another. A portion of the proceeds from sales will go to The Trevor Project which is an organization which focuses on suicide prevention amongst LGBTQ+ youth.
