Now in the archive! Listen back to the Common Tongue Compilation Release Broadcast! The recorded sets featured Riin and Lohrkraut opening with a b2b set of ambient, dubby downtempo, and jazzy tracks, followed by Astan KA and Marius Max with an intimate, experimental jazz live performance. O.L.Q. and Isolated Material delivered a blend from psychedelic dub to clubby music, followed by an hour-long set from Tseërs, featuring a polyrhythmic and hypnotic selection of tracks. AJO closed the night with a high-energy drum & bass set. All recordings are now online!

Volume 1 of the three-part compilation from the newfound label „Common Tongue“ is now out on Bandcamp. All proceeds go directly to supporting people in Gaza and the West Bank via Medico International.

Something that is very meaningful to me is coming soon. 🫶

Over the past months, I’ve been working closely with around 50 incredibly talented artists and collaborators on a three-part fundraising CD compilation. This project came to life through collective effort; from music and mastering to artwork and organization, and through a shared desire to turn creativity into concrete support.

Today, civilian life in Gaza is defined by devastating conditions: people are living in tents under ongoing bombardments, with extremely limited access to food, clean water, electricity, medical care, and safe shelter.
In the West Bank, daily life is shaped by settler violence and state violations, leaving many communities exposed to displacement, insecurity, and the constant threat of losing their homes and livelihoods.

On Friday, we will celebrate the release of Volume 1 @thfradio in Berlin. For this evening, we’ve put together a lineup that offers a glimpse into the sound of Vol. 1, while also looking ahead to what’s coming on Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, which will be released over the coming months.
The compilation will be released on Common Tongue, a newly founded, non-commercial, volunteer-run label dedicated exclusively to fundraising releases and events.

Kalocain is a music producer and artist based in Frankfurt/Offenbach, Germany.
Sasa Crnobrnja & Alex Gloor (Codek Records) - "We met Joschi/KALOCAIN in 2013 through his father, the owner of the last secondhand books shop in my (Alex) neighbourhood here in Basel, Switzerland. Joshi told us about tracks he’s producing so we visited him in the Black Forest mountains in southwest Germany in a little gingerbread house where he was tinkering around on his laptop making tracks. After getting him a set up of Korg USB controllers things started to pick up and he kept sending tracks over the years. A few weeks ago we asked Joshi for some new house tracks and he delivered, enjoy."
Out now on Codek Records bandcamp and in all streaming platforms next friday.
