We are thrilled to announce that HOME BEFORE NIGHT has been selected for the JETS initiative during the European Film Market at the Berlinale.
The JETS Initiative (Junior Entertainment Talent Slate) is a prestigious international co-production program designed for filmmakers-specifically those working on their first, second, or third feature-length fiction film.
This year marks a milestone year for Australia at JETS, with Australian projects selected for the first time in the initiative’s decade-long history.
We are also extremely grateful for the support from @screenaustralia It’s a privilege to live and work in a country where government agencies like Screen Australia exist and fully support independent filmmakers like us. We also empathise with filmmakers in other countries who do not have access to similar resources.
We’re excited to represent both Australia and Nepal on the global stage with this beautiful film. 🇦🇺🇳🇵🇩🇪🥨🌯

✨Presenting the lineup for National Short Films at NIFF 2026✨
We have 20 wonderful short films from Nepal in the National Shorts category at the 9th Nepal International Film Festival, taking place on 2-6 April 2026. This collection showcases the wide range of narratives through unique voices, bold ideas, and refreshing treatment. 🎥
Film Title (03/20): Family Man
Directed by: Kalani Gacon
Country: Nepal, Australia
00:17:06
During a storm in a remote Nepalese village, a mysterious man finds refuge in the house of a family haunted by their father's disappearance years before. Strangely unwilling to leave, he slowly reawakens lost memories of the missing father.
Film Title (04/20): Sinner
Directed by: Raksha Thapa
Country: Nepal
00:14:39
Sinner tells the story of a troubled man who hosts a party where his closest “friends” gather around a dining table. As the night progresses, their conversations turn accusatory—each confronting him with unforgivable mistakes from his past. Yet these companions are not friends at all; they are the living embodiments of his sins, drawn from Hindu scriptures: Abhimaan (Pride), Irsha (Jealousy), Trishna (Desire), Kama (Lust), and Aakrosh (Anger). One by one, the sins expose his guilt, contradictions, and failures, each narrative colliding with the others. As the voices grow louder and the night descends into chaos, Sinner’s grip on reality begins to fracture. What starts as a gathering transforms into a hallucinatory trial of his soul, forcing him to confront the demons within that he can no longer suppress.
Film Title (05/20): Kamana
Directed by: Aashuka Aryal
Country: Nepal
00:11:55
Kamana goes back to her parents' house because her dowry isn’t paid. The film shows how the dowry system treats women as objects and makes them feel lost. Kamana wants to be free, but societal pressure keeps her from finding her true self.

In honour of the “v-set” trains being decommissioned, we’re finally sharing our very first film, Soles.
This film is where Mountain of Youth began- rough, uncertain and held together by belief, late nights and a lot of fake it till you make it. We didn’t know if it was possible. We just knew it mattered.
Funded by community grants, raffles, and the generosity of people who said yes before there was proof, Soles became a time capsule of Katoomba, an ode to the v-set, and a collection of young voices that shaped what MOY is today.
After 2.5 years on the international festival circuit, it feels right to bring it home.
A reminder of what can happen when a community shows up.
Please watch, share, and hold it close.

How can a train have a soul? It shouldn’t make sense and yet it’s true.
I have been making movies on the V-set trains across many different chapters of my life. They have been such a strong character of so many of my works and given me so many moments to find inspiration on a long train ride.
These trains which hold so many memories, have brought people together, given moments of chance encounters, have been a part of the soul of the blue mountains for so long.
I guess everything beautiful has to come to an end.
Thankyou V sets
