[Trigger warning - images may be hard to see] Nov. 10, 2022, my daughter Ruby passed away. Like any proud dad and processing filmmaker, I had some clips and recordings of our experience with her that year and I (quickly) made three videos that we showed during her memorial service. This is a portion of one of them.
Two years doesn’t resolve the grief but it may provide perspective. I remember initially disliking 2022. It feels like the worst year of my life. It feels like one of the best. And, it’s when I started to see how kind my God is.

wasn’t really gonna do one of those best of ’25 joints but felt like sharing something I never got around to hyping up.
one of my favorite moments I was able to capture/direct in 2025 with @joshuawann on the cam and sticks. I did quite a few things with @iamhollyn @wwweathrman but there’s something about this simple long take. The meaning in the lyrics and the dash of hope and focus in them. the surrounding green hills. a space to frolic and get lost. there’s something about it. the kind of thing that is what it is on its own but also inspires something else I hope to unearth this year.
@iamhollyn lyrics really hit at the top of the year as of course, I’m reflecting and resetting. trying to dig deep in my own soil instead of drowning in the concrete noise. the perceived competition that surrounds art, commerce and industry and blares at you via socials. the felt fear. may we strip it back just like this a cappella vocal.
there’s a house you think of when someone says “home”
i believe that this one will forever be told
as the safe place
the garden
that flourished in our souls
