It was a great day Today and I’m thankful for everyone that came out; but today still hits different for me
4/20 ain’t just a celebration — it’s also the day I lost my homie Joel back in 2003 to a senseless drive-by. It’s crazy cause this very picture was taken just a hour or so before he was taken and luckily I was blessed with this picture I’ve held since 2003
That moment changed everything for me.
It made me stop, think, and really look at the path I was on.
Joel had nothing but good energy… always solid, always real.
And losing him pushed me to move different — to focus on something positive, to build something that meant something.
Honestly… I don’t even know if JustBlaze would exist without that moment.
He’s not just my homie — he’s a blessing in my life, even in his absence.
I carry him with me every day.
Every time I pick up a can…
Every piece I do…
I write his name.
