I had the pleasure of being apart of @jackandjillinc experience in Charleston! The littles participated in an interactive learning workshop where they created their own edible chocolate garden beds and learned about the garden cycle. We also served a vegan harvest stew with produce sourced from @joseph.fieldsfarm and rice middlins from @ansonmills

Thanks to our sponsor @eco_gecko we were able to use compostable tasting bowls and spoons! ♻️

Huge Thank you to @foundmefaithful for working with me on this project! Thank yall for visiting Charleston, can’t wait to see yall again soon!! 🩷🌴

As a girl who grew up in a farming community in rural South Carolina, I’ve always appreciated the difference that local produce makes 🌿

Supporting local farmers isn’t just about fresher food — it supports families, small businesses, and keeps that connection to where our food actually comes from.

So I put together a guide to where you can shop local around Charleston throughout the week 🛍️

If I’m in town, you’ll find me at Marion Square on Saturday mornings picking up produce for the week — it’s one of my favorite Charleston traditions. It’s fun, it’s fresh, and honestly such a great way to start the weekend.

And a special shoutout to one of my hometown farms, Shuler Strawberries & Peaches — you can find them at the Summerville, Mount Pleasant, and Downtown Farmers Markets.🍓🍑

Save this for your next market run + send to your market crew 💌

I’ve always been big on supporting local in Charleston. That part hasn’t changed.

But with how expensive everything’s gotten lately,I’ve realized how much these habits actually help our budget.

Especially living in Charleston where your day-to-day costs can add up quickly.

We waste less, we buy with more intention, and we’re not constantly overbuying things we don’t use.

It’s not about cutting everything out…it’s just being smarter about where our money goes.

If you’re moving to Charleston or already living here, this is what’s been working for us as a
family.

What’s something that’s been helping your budget lately?

On Monday we welcomed students from @charlestoncollegiate to @joseph.fieldsfarm for a hands-on farm-to-table learning experience 🌱
Students explored how food grows, harvested fresh ingredients, and connected the journey from soil to plate.
Experiences like these are part of the work Earth Heart Growers continues to expand through our Farm to School program. We’re grateful to the Bosch Community Fund for supporting educational opportunities that connect students with agriculture, nutrition, and environmental stewardship.

Support local agriculture and nourish your family with the freshest organic produce straight from our fields.
A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a weekly or bi-weekly box filled with seasonal vegetables, herbs, and farm goods. When you join, you’re not just buying produce — you’re investing in a local, Black-owned, family farm, helping us continue growing healthy food for our community.
✨ Why CSA matters:
• Supports sustainable, regenerative farming
• Keeps food dollars in the community
• Provides you with ultra-fresh, nutrient-dense produce
• Strengthens the connection between families and local farms
We’re also inviting neighborhoods, communities, and groups of 5+ families to come together and create a CSA drop-off point near you! It’s a beautiful way to build community while making fresh food more accessible.
