This collection includes short documentaries, experimental works, music videos, and narrative films exploring subcultures, identity, and coming-of-age stories within the Asian Diaspora worldwide.

I spent 2 weeks in Jackie Chan’s basement filming @redhongyi make an artwork that Jackie had commissioned of his face made out of 60,000 chopsticks.
This photo is from his 60th birthday charity event at a stadium in Beijing, where the artwork was presented to him.
He rose out of the floor wearing all white on a segway and sang love songs. I had seen Rush Hour 2, so I had in my mind that we were going to be best friends by the end of it. But we didn’t really talk, so I ended up being pretty disappointed.

I shot this photo of these guys in their 60’s balling in the morning in 2016. I ran into An Sheng again this week- now 74 and still there every day.

Back in 2016 we were sitting around at lunch thinking what a PUSH event could look like. We thought about what kind of event we’d like to see or go to.
By the end of lunch we’d decided that we wanted to have an event that could exhibit some of the best skate videos, films and photography from around the world. Selfishly, it was also a chance to meet our heroes and nerd out, listening to the stories about the films they had made themselves.
At that time in Shanghai, anything was possible. We pulled together sponsors allowing us to fly out speakers from the US, hire an event company, print photos, create a visual identity and hire a big studio space.
7 years later it still has that same vibe- a screening and party for Shanghai’s skate and creative communities, but we now also host the Converse Crew’d Up finals. Started by @edanq Converse reaches out to skate teams from all over China- plus a couple from Korea and Taiwan to send in skate videos. The finalists get flown to Shanghai to be announced. It’s amazing to be a part of an event that can give these skaters and film makers and platform to show their videos.
