what @goodroomies is all about (:
Do you remember the US sitcoms with an all Asian cast? Sitcoms like All American Girl, Kim’s Convenience, Fresh Off the Boat, and the likes of Dr. K.
We’ll trying to bring this back by doing our own thing, but insteadusing our stories!
After a year of writing, putting a cast together, and putting the pieces together... the pilot episode will be airing during the first week of March!
We’ve been working hard and it would be lovely if we saw you there! Low pressure, fun times (:
See you soon!
This is episode 3 of making a live in-person sitcom in less than 13 days. I’ll see you in a couple of days for Episode 4
p.s. I know that Kim’s Convenience is Canadian, but it got pretty popular in the states!

my fav wingman on @goodroomies
Michelle is one of my closest and favorite homegirls in the world. Due to her empathetic caring nature she is someone who consistently challenges me and pushes me to be better than I was yesterday.
Through our laughs, our struggles, and just simply our small celebrations of the day… I will say there is this deep rooted intimate platonic friendship that I love so much. I’m fortunate and I hope I am and can be the same type of friend that she is for me, for her.
This is why back in 2025 when my co-writer of the live in-personsitcom we’re making asked if I was writing the main role for someone… I said Michelle.
She’s not just a friend but she’s a very talented actress who knows how to balance strength with humor and finesse.
Who does she play?
Michelle plays Megan, a Korean-Christian girl who has a secret and in the midst of it all roomies with her three neurotic friends as they try to therapize her.
Even though it’s ensemble, she is as we say, the lead… and she’s leading with grace. The sitcom wouldn’t exist without her.
So if you’re around in March… come out to a showing!
It’s going to be fun.
This is episode 4 of making a live in-person sitcom in less than 11 days. Hopefully I enough energy and time that I’ll see you in a couple of days for Episode 5 (:

AH! wrote a @Peacock tv show with creative ppl!
I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop counting every finger on my hand. Why? Making sure that this moment & the moments in the last eight months actually happened.
HOLY ***!
I’m alive!
Oct 2024: I receive a text message from Daren, “you avail right now to give notes on our NBC show we’re writing?”
I ran out of the bday party, rushed home, opened my laptop, & in 3 hours sent my notes back
I was just there to help out friends because Daren and Ava were nice creative people at the time and I LOVE writing
So how can you not help?
Little did I know that this would lead into fulfilling a dream that’s been circulating in my brain since I was 12: to write on a tv show.
The very NEXT day. Yes… I get asked from their producer to help write six episodes for their show.
CRAZY!
We had two weeks to write six episode ranging from 12 - 20 minutes.
Wake up.
Write for 5 hours.
laugh.
cry.
Take a break
Write for another 5.
It was heaven.
The writing process is the one thing in life that makes my heart beat vigorously. I’m bipolar & writing is the only thing that keeps me grounded.
It’s the ability to disappear into different characters and watch the messiness & beauty of life unfold right in front of your eyes… it’s magical.
and..
To be able to do this with ppl who were nice and trusting then? Ineffable. But more importantly watch this show for the crew. Yes, the crew endured so much for this project to come to life.
“People Like Me” on Peacock (:
I would like to end by thanking friends & everyone in between: I’m a byproduct of every single experience & person I’ve met.
Cliche but to me it’s true, I was able to do this because of you.
I believe the beauty you are able to create IN art always derives from the people and world around you: real human moments. lessons. experiences. is why you are able to create
Special thanks:
the crew: I <3 you
and the producers for including me

I would like to end by thanking friends & everyone in between: I’m a byproduct of every single experience & person I’ve met.
Cliche but to me it’s true, I was able to do this because of you.
I believe the beauty you are able to create IN art always derives from the people and world around you: real human moments. lessons. experiences. is why you are able to create
Special thanks:
the crew: I <3 you

AH! wrote a @Peacock tv show with creative ppl!
It’s the ability to disappear into different characters and watch the messiness & beauty of life unfold right in front of your eyes… it’s magical.
and..

I woke up at around 4am today and I realized that today my grandmother would have been 23 years old.
I’m not going to lie, at first I laid awake thinking, “should I even make a video about her?”
But then the memories of her, her compassion, her example, and her lessons started to pour into my head.
Emotions ranging from the happy times to the times where one time it took me 45 minutes to explain to her, over the phone, how to print something from her computer.
To emotions of her passing when I would often look in the mirror and question, question to myself, if I’m living a life that she would be proud of...
You have no idea the vices I’ve had, will continue to have, and will continue to work through...
There is this idea and truth that -
I’ve been so privileged to have an amazing grandmother who has taught and shown me through example -
how to be a better older brother to my siblings, to be a better son to my mother, to be a resilient worker in my career, to be a great friend to all... what would I be if I threw it all away?
Five words would often creep up, especially after she passed... “I cannot let her down.”
It’s been hard at times, but through therapy, through hearing her stories, through deep self-introspection, and frankly through enjoying and having fun in the skin I live in this life... I’ve learned this:
Get out of your head and just listen to your soul. Because, as I’ve learned - “the human mind judges, but the soul can only love unconditionally.”
Her spirit, her soul, will always live around me -
Love her.
And so... I had no choice but to get to work and make something before this special day ends.
It’s her day.
(oh snap it’s 11:41am as I write this... let’s publish this thing)
