✨ Tuesday evening September 9th marked the opening of the scenography we created for Kolveniershof in Antwerp, commissioned by Operating Collective (OPCO).
For this project, I had the privilege of collaborating with Ralph Looyens, Owen Seldeslachts, and Robbe Stevens from Andampersant – a platform where disciplines, makers, and contexts intersect through scenography, exhibitions, and spatial research.
The Kolveniershof, a historic site right next to the Rubenshuis, offered us a rare challenge: how to engage with heritage and artistic legacy today, without reducing it to nostalgia or imitation.
Rubens’ 17th-century world was shaped by power, faith, and art. His atelier functioned as an ideological engine. But if we pull him out of that time, something gets lost. So instead of quoting Rubens directly, we turned to his landscape studies in Elewijt – intimate works born from observation rather than representation.
🌳 These quiet studies inspired us to bring a constellation of trees into Kolveniershof.
Anonymous trunks from a local sawmill, fused with zinc-pressed fragments of Elewijt’s trees, form the structure. At the center, a floating zinc table, echoing the cross-section of fallen trees, becomes a sculptural centerpiece – a place for gatherings hosted by OPCO.
A heartfelt thank you to @andampersand.be , OPCO, and @rubenshuisantwerpen for the trust and inspiration throughout this journey. It’s wonderful that within the walls of @over_druk , we can realize such projects in-house.

We are proud to introduce Ensis III, as part of Charcoal & Shells, a new capsule collection centred around the visual language of fire.
The wooden handle undergoes a controlled burning process. Charring wood is a Japanese method of wood preservation, called Shou Sugi Ban, in which the carbonized surface acts as a protective layer for the material.
For Ensis III, 20 numbered pieces in black and 10 in charcoal are now available online and in-store.

fold shower
.
The Fold Shower is a custom outdoor sculpture that balances privacy and function. Designed as a spatial divider, it gently shields views from neighboring surroundings while simultaneously integrating a fully functional shower with a thermostatic tap.
.
By consistently applying the core concept of folding, the entire structure is shaped from 8 mm aluminum into a stable, self-supporting form. Along one side, the fold opens into a waterfall shower, while the opposite fold transforms into a subtle shelf for shampoo or essentials. The central fold reinforces the structure, giving it both strength and sense of security, folding around the user.
.
A column at the back houses the water supply, keeping the form clean and uninterrupted. Laser-cut and precisely folded, the Fold Shower exists somewhere between object and architecture - both utility and sculpture.

The “dot” invites gathering and interaction, while quietly embedding itself within the site’s green, tree-filled context. In this way, the intervention becomes both poetic and functional: a geometric gesture that reinforces the identity of the addiction care center, encourages social exchange, and creates a gentle transition between the care facility, the landscape, and the public space.
.
At the same time, the sculpture opens an internal dialogue about the position of patients dealing with addiction in relation to society and public space. Should they be shielded, their anonymity protected? Or can this object act as a statement—making the issue visible within the public domain, and contributing to a process of reintegration? These positions are not mutually exclusive; its use in practice will reveal who occupies the bench, and when.
.
.
.
“In the visual arts in general and in architecture in particular the basic forms dominate: the circle, for instance, is a symbol of the self, expressing all the dimensions of the psyche, including the man–nature
relationship.”
