2 Weeks Notice (or Blessings Across the Mainspring)
I spent the last 3 months intermittently working on this poster for my coworker and good friend @samaraopalart 's birthday. The instructions were something buggy and in my "style" (🤮).
How strange the way time yellows all. Water and wind erodes, cracks form and foundations rot. But there are eternal things wrapped upped in being human (or a bug I guess). It got me thinking about our move to Atlanta.
New friends, old friends, the bonds of creation. Leaving what you know for something new. Foundations laid again, vegetation in the cracks, water to drink and wind to breathe.
Every character in this poster is a coworker from the St. Louis Public Library (except Arson the worm and Sheena.) All of them left such incredible impressions on me, eroded my shell. They pulled me into the light, they challenged me. They helped weed out so many of the doubts, doubts that lovely people have been trying to help me conquer for years.
That sand of time running through my fingers, moments with you, the gems my hands can grasp
Thank you SLPL, the hardworking folks at the Special School District, Timothy Lutheran Church, and the rest of you faithful servants (read miracle workers) who choose to stay in St. Louis and give it so much life.
Deuces til we come visit.
