Auditions for the 2026–2027 Pre-Professional Trainee Program school year are happening NEXT FRIDAY!
Our Trainee Program, open to dancers ages 13–25, provides a comprehensive pathway for those pursuing a future in professional dance.
With two distinct tracks — Ballet or Jazz & Contemporary — dancers receive elite technical instruction while developing the versatility needed in today’s evolving dance industry. Unlike many programs that specialize in a single discipline, the Joffrey Ballet School champions cross-training, preparing dancers to thrive in diverse professional environments.
Program pathways include:

☑️ Certificate Program – for high school graduates
☑️ BFA Degree Pathway – earn your Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Akron

We’re ready to dance with you this summer. Step into a season of growth, artistry, and opportunity with the Joffrey Ballet School. The journey begins with our 2025/2026 Audition Tour, your gateway to acceptance and potential merit-based scholarships for our world-renowned Summer Intensives.
Spanning cities across the United States and abroad, the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensives offer a dynamic range of training experiences designed to ignite every dancer’s potential. Each program reflects the versatility and spirit of Joffrey — from classical ballet and contemporary to jazz, hip hop, tap, musical theater, and circus arts. Guided by world-class Artistic Directors and faculty, dancers train in state-of-the-art studios, explore new dimensions of movement, and perform in professional settings that inspire growth, connection, and creativity.
Here’s how to join us:
1️⃣ Find an audition near you or submit a digital audition if we’re not in your city. Audition registration is now open.
2️⃣ Audition in your chosen style or genre or explore more than one to expand your opportunities.
3️⃣ Receive your results via email within a week — you’ll learn which intensives you’ve been accepted to and any merit-based scholarship offers.
4️⃣ Discover your program by visiting our website to explore classes, Artistic Directors, faculty, performances, and locations.
5️⃣ Choose your intensive and register to begin your summer journey.

The variation class is an opportunity to learn classical ballet variations from famous repertoire ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, and many others! This class is designed for dancers with a clear understanding of the foundational elements of ballet and is encouraged for dancers at or beyond the Beginner Intermediate level. Dancers must take Beginner Intermediate Ballet with Stephanie Godino at 3:00 p.m. to participate in the Ballet Classical Variation class. Dancers may take this class en pointe or in flat ballet shoes.

Our Pre-Professional Trainee Programs brought the Spring semester to a powerful close with performances that celebrated a year of growth, passion, and unwavering dedication. “Continuum: Our Kinetic Lineage”, illuminated the artistry, commitment, and individuality our trainees have cultivated throughout the season, filling the stage with movement that was both dynamic and deeply felt.
A large thank you to our incredible Artistic Directors, faculty, and staff whose guidance, vision, and mentorship continue to shape the next generation of artists. We are endlessly proud of every dancer who took the stage and shared their work with such strength and presence along with all the support that filled the seats.
We’d like to send a special congratulations to our Year 4 graduates as they step into an exciting new chapter. We cannot wait to see where your journeys take you next, and remember that Joffrey Ballet School will always be home.

She was a member of Joffrey Concert Group and The Joffrey Ballet inspiring audiences across the globe, and her love and dedication to teaching shaped the lives of countless students.
Under the direction of Artistic Director John Magnus, she was a primary faculty member of the original Joffrey Midwest and instrumental in the development of the success of the program for many years.
We honor her life and her extraordinary legacy.
