Are you a beginner, or adult dancer, looking for additional training? Joffrey Ballet School offers an Intermediate Ballet OPEN CLASS every week!
The Intermediate level is for dancers with 3-5 years of Ballet training. Intermediate is the perfect level for dancers who are serious about their training and have excelled beyond the Beginner levels. Intermediate classes move quickly, offering complex combinations both at the barre and in the center. Dancers will be exposed to more advanced and diverse exercises, challenging them to elevate their level of training. At this level, dancers should begin to explore and develop their artistry, musicality, and epaulement.

Join us for our Absolute Beginner Ballet workshop with faculty member Annastasia Mercedes! The workshop meets once a week on Tuesdays from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Joffrey Ballet School Manhattan studios. Our first 6 Week session starts June 2 - July 7, 2026.
This introductory workshop is specially designed for adults who have a passion and desire to learn ballet but have no prior dance experience. The classes provide a welcoming and friendly environment, with individualized instruction and attention, which exposes you to the core fundamentals of ballet in a relaxed and comfortable class setting. Throughout this workshop you will learn the basic body positions, core ballet exercises such as plié and tendu, how to stand at the barre with appropriate body alignment and posture, an introduction to ballet terminology as well as ballet classroom etiquette. An emphasis on proper body alignment will be a key point of focus, in addition to hip rotation and postural placement.
Registration is required for this workshop as this is a series of 6 classes, not single drop-in classes. Consistent attendance is important, as each class will build upon the previous concepts studied. Students can not miss more than 1/4 of the workshop series. (Recommended for beginners).

The two hour format of this jazz class will allow for an in-depth study of the technique, artistry and choreographic style of classic jazz dance. Dancers will be guided through a comprehensive explanation of a series of technique exercises designed to both warm up the body and build a solid technical jazz foundation. Next, a piece of choreography will be taught and explored. The longer format of this class will allow for a deeply detailed approach to the development of the dancers’ sense of musicality, presence and personal style through the choreography.

The two hour format of this jazz class will allow for an in-depth study of the technique, artistry and choreographic style of classic jazz dance. The two hour format of this jazz class will allow for an in-depth study of the technique, artistry and choreographic style of classic jazz dance. Dancers will be guided through a comprehensive explanation of a series of technique exercises designed to both warm up the body and build a solid technical jazz foundation. Next, a piece of choreography will be taught and explored. The longer format of this class will allow for a deeply detailed approach to the development of the dancers’ sense of musicality, presence and personal style through the choreography.
