“Sol” is out today on all streaming platforms. The most genuine reflection of me as an artist, the alter ego imagined up to characterize the bright, soulful, emotive compositions that I’ve worked on over the last 3-4 years. So many stories behind these tracks but for now I’ll just say thank you to everyone involved in this project, to @krishnacanning and @crybbymusic for their brilliant musical additions, honest mixing critiques, and so much more. Hey everyone, I just released “Aube,” a collection of rather unmixed guitar demos. Listen wherever you stream music. A little more detail about the project below..

2 years ago @mamadouofficiall told me that my guitar playing reminded him of Kora music.We were in a session - he brought in “We Need Hugs, Too.” and I had a chance to play some ideas over top.I was unfamiliar with Kora music, and Mamadou introduced me to Ali Farka Touré and Toumani Diabate’s incredible joint album, “Ali & Toumani”.

“Aube” is the indirect result. It’s not neat or polished. Just a collection of demos, each inspired in some distant way by the energy, beauty, and stripped-back nature presented in the Kora music I’ve had the chance to explore.All played on guitar, most of everything was recorded without a proper microphone - just straight into the built in mic in my laptop - and all left relatively unmixed. A lot of the tracks are played on this $5 guitar I picked up at a barn sale in Vermont, a guitar that struggles to stay in tune and was sold to me as a decorative piece.

I wanted to put some music out this year - I’ve been wrapping up the mixes on my own artist project for the last 3 months and had initially held onto the hope of releasing it in October. It didn’t feel ready, so I thought to let go of these songs in the mean time. Enjoy while walking or cleaning or running or cooking or living. Or sample it!Either way, hoping you are all well. Love
