JIYOON LEE
β Violinist β
β» @staatsoperberlin 1st Concertmaster
β» @hannseislerberlin Faculty

Violinists, this is the level you should be learning from.
Meet our Masterclass Faculty Instructor, Jiyoon Lee, First Concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Berlin.
As one of todayβs leading orchestral musicians, @jiyoon.violin sits at the very center of one of Europeβs most prestigious ensembles, shaping sound, leading sections, and working alongside conductors at the highest international level. Appointed in 2017, she quickly established herself as a defining artistic voice within the orchestra.
Her career bridges everything a young orchestral violinist should aspire to: performing as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide, appearing at leading festivals such as Verbier and Tanglewood, and collaborating with artists including Daniel Barenboim.
A prizewinner of the Carl Nielsen and David Oistrakh International Violin Competitions, her playing has been described as βfull-toned, consistent and energeticβ by BBC Music Magazine.
For orchestral violinists, this is not just a masterclass. It is direct insight into concertmaster-level leadership, orchestral precision, and the realities of performing at the very top of the profession.
Join the Berlin Opera Academy Orchestra and work with the musicians who define todayβs orchestral standard.
