This is the last music video I made with my late friend and colleague @valentinpetit90. It was his last artistic creation. And like every project I have done with him, he pushed the boundaries of our imaginations to what was possible and encouraged me and all of his collaborators to expand their perspectives in order to embrace the crazy vision that was in his mind. It was a great pleasure to work with him and the incredible team at Ocurens on this film and carry it through as best as we could in his name. I wish we all had many more to make with him but I know that his artistic spirit has been shared to everyone he worked with. 🖤🕊

For the past five years I’ve been shooting this very personal film called ALMA. It’s a narrative experiment that I made with the help of my own family, who all agreed to act in it. Without a screenplay — only with an idea of what the film could be. If you’ve spoken to me during these last years, you probably know about it. I was always working on it or actively avoiding working on it...

This year I finally discovered the film that ALMA needed to be, and I was so lucky to be invited to premiere it at Visions du Réel. I’m so excited to share it with all my friends and family and then let it go into the world.

The premiere is April 20th at Visions du Réel in Nyon 🎬 My first film shot entirely in Switzerland, and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better home for it.

If you have a chance, it would be wonderful to see you there and see the film with you. If not, I really hope I can bring it close to you soon, and in that case I do expect you there :)

It was a long journey and I’m so grateful to have traveled with some true partners. @jeffbierman , who was with me from beginning to end, up and down, left and right, high and low, all while shooting beautiful images. @courtcolt , who edited, recorded sound, cast, directed, wrote, listened, advised and I don’t know how much else. @tobias_preisig for his always open, always available, always positive ways to make music. @ich_bin_slon and @mathainsta for bearing the longest sound process in the world and always doing it with love. @niza Lou Waldburger @francis.benjamin.meier@miroschnee @cinegrell @8horses.ch

This year I finally discovered the film that ALMA needed to be, and I was so lucky to be invited to premiere it at Visions du Réel. I’m so excited to share it with all my friends and family and then let it go into the world.

The premiere is April 20th at Visions du Réel in Nyon 🎬 My first film shot entirely in Switzerland, and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better home for it.

If you have a chance, it would be wonderful to see you there and see the film with you. If not, I really hope I can bring it close to you soon, and in that case I do expect you there :)
