Six little big adventures, one shared destiny. Born to Be Wild premieres December 19 on Apple TV.

Filmed over several years across three continents, the six-part documentary series follows six endangered young animals as they grow up in our world but are destined to return to theirs. From their earliest days through their journey to life in the wild, the series highlights the challenges, triumphs and resilience that define their survival, both for the animals and the extraordinary people working to raise and protect them.

As each animal finds its place in the world after being orphaned or born through conservation programs — from an elephant calf and two young cheetahs, to a ring-tailed lemur pup, a moon bear cub, Iberian lynx kittens and rescued African penguins — “Born to be Wild” offers an intimate and emotional look at the powerful relationships between these animals and the heroic humans dedicated to raising, rehabilitating and rewilding them to help save their species.

In the in-betweens—the spaces, the pause—
I find healing, growth, embrace the flaws.

I’ve made an annual practice over reflecting on quotes I hold dearly, today as I looked at this reel these words by Lawrence Pearsall Jackson came to the surface. I’m certainly no master, but I’m playing on it.

A sneak peak into the brand new David Attenborough series: “Mammals”. I’m thrilled to have several of my shots make the trailer 🕺

Along with an insanely talented team we spent months rocking around at sea searching for elusive cetaceans and capturing never before seen behaviour, a month bouncing around in a Land Cruiser chasing rocket cats, a month enduring nasty bites in a boggy swamp, 6 of the fittest weeks of my life traversing rugged terrain as we tracked chimps in densely forested mountains, and a month constantly drenched in sweat filming new behaviour on the 8th continent in scorching 50°C heat. What an absolute privilege.

I’m beyond excited that the series will be treating your eyeballs soon.

It’s a word I’ve reflected on a lot lately. A word that I’ve set as my intention for the year ahead. A word that encapsulates so much of who I am becoming as I shed my chrysalis. The word, PRESENCE.

May this year be one in which I am truly present. A year in which I practice seeing the presence of God in every situation. A year in which I am more physically present for my community and loved ones. A year in which I am Fully present in moments of deep connection with the surrounding sea of human hearts.

I’m so far from the mark, but I’m setting my intention and learning-growing each day. Thank you to those who model presence to me, I love you all.

The cares of the future and the worries of the what-ifs vaporise as my everything is locked in the present. My gaze transfixed as my jaw drops in awe, the beauty of the now.

A dew drop chandelier, a child’s laughter, a stranger’s smile, a butterfly fluttering bye, petrichor, palm trees, her eyes, God’s crayon box melting across the skies.

These moments where I find myself at peace with what is, marvelling at what’s around me, trusting the one who was and is.
